The pundits on Radio Scotland were laughing at him and saying he should be subbed off.
Were comparing him to the infamous player Souness signed forSouthampton 'George Weah's cousin'.
That bad?
Offline
definatly not he has a strange running style but looked more than good enough to play at this level pundits fucking cluelesss
Offline
No, he had a bit of positivity about him and tried to get forward.
He had some ropey touches as well.
Not sure how he'll pan out but he's a big lad and seemed positive.
Who was the pundits? Preston by any chance?
Offline
He looked dreadful for the first 15 mins or so when he came on, but he slowly came into the game and may prove to be alright.
Offline
he may take some getting used to as he won a few 50/50s stood up for himself and passed to united players.

Nonsense. Struggled with the pace of the game in his first few minutes (probably due to a lack of fitness) but showed he can see a pass which is a rarity at Tannadice these days. Will hopefully get better with match time.
Offline
Looked like the pace of the game caught him out to start with. Jumped into team mates challenging for a couple of headers and a couple of bad passes but as time went on you can see he's got something.
Looks creative and can see a team mates movement and play a pass. After his dodgy mistakes you could see no one was scared to give him the ball, almost the opposite.
Thought we looked better going forward with him involved. If he can get fitter, think and play quicker he might be good.
Needs to calm down a bit - good one minute/shite the next - potential though imo

Clearly short of match fitness, but a level above any midfielder on show in terms of football brain and ability. In my view, of course. First half I felt St Mirren had the upper hand in midfield, second half they didn't.
Pundits on BBC Radio Scotland? They are 'pundits' for a reason.
But the unfortunate thing is, we're paying for these 'pundits' to offer their expertise.

The 2 pundits were Alan Preston and Alex Rae.
Not sure who the commentator was but he was agreeing with them.Quite unusual for a commentator to be so critical tbh.
They all seemed to have it in for the lad a bit.

My jury's still out on him. For every good pass he made, he made a bad one. However his best pass was the one from the middle, that gave us our 3rd goal and winner.

Reminded me of Prince Buaben on his first few games for Utd. Completely taken aback by the pace of the game in Scotland and also really lacking positional awareness but, also showing that there is raw potential there to be unlocked and worked on.
Offline
He looked like a player short on match fitness and unfamiliar with the Scottish game as others have said, think he can do a job. Ironic that Allan Preston was saying he looked like someone who'd won a competition considering he sounds like he wrote into Jim'll fix it to have a go at radio commentary.
Also thought it was hilarious when he put Willo on his arse.

Fecking pundits. Like someone said, theyre pundits for a reason. Either failed managers or shitebags who are too scared to have a go at management and pick up an easy wage.
Offline
I liked him and he is a big guy and tough
Exactly what we have missed all season in the middle
I think he will be invaluable.
As for Preston; he hates United for some reason and his comments after the game suggested only one team
Pilates
I don't think he mentioned United once
I thought the boy did OK. He played the whole 2nd half, which we won 2-1. That wouldn't have happened if he was as bad as (too many) Biscuits was saying.

I thought he was very erratic at times, looked like he was trying too hard to impress for me, but he settled down and came onto a game. Showed some good passing ability and looked right up for it so overall I think he did well.

But is McKinnon the man to do that? To date he hasn't shown much ability in that direction.

I ❤ him.

Best goal in the 'WHOLE WORLD'.
Dreadful at points tonight, frustrating too, but I guess he doesn't want to give the ball away/pass the buck. Very, very strong laddie, skillful too. And confident.
At our level he's a tremendous find, definitely worth a deal for a couple of seasons.

Only 21 as well.
Could turn out a find on a par with Prince and Jimmy.

Both these guys were quite humble. Wato has confidence/arrogance. It could go either way.

Sorry to disagree Pat but I thought he was excellent throughout - confident, determined and positive - a real winner, a class act. Was my MoM even without the best ever goal after Ralphie's lob. The goal just made him my Player of the Season

No need to apologise about disagreeing AA, football isn't always or ever something which is easy to analyse and determine.
Not doubting Wato's confidence, determination and positive approach, but felt he put other players under pressure at times (first half) due to being our one player who was keen to hold the ball until a pass became apparent. Boot it forward!
He's a talent, there's no arguing there.

Seems a humble guy in his interviews with a real desire to do well for Utd.Seems like a (dare i say it?) winner.
And there's some raw talent there too i think which if managed correctly could result in us having a real dynamo in the heart of team.
Early days admittedly.
But quite exciited by this find.
