in the crazy world of the premiership, only 8m? prem club to perm club.
maybe needs a bidding war?
10% of anything north of 10m would help us out massively.

If a deal like this were to go through, would the money go through Hull before we get our percentage or are percentages dolled out as part of sale? Payments or no payments.
If we are relying on Hull for that money they'll be a nightmare. West Brom were fuming with them a couple years ago for slow paying on the Shane long transfer, threatened to report to Fifa. Somewhat notorious for it.

I'm led to believe there's a £10m deal done for him to go to Liverpool. Apparently the reason he didn't go to Burnley in January.

The money will come to United and then quickly slip out to a third party

I'm thinking any money Utd got from this would be used to cover agreed payments on the loans (sorry, "investments") which I would imagine need made during next season. That is of course assuming we aren't running at a 7 figure loss next year and need the money to plug that hole first.

If it is 10% of 10m that is straight to the Yank and Cath Thompson, the big payday after Robertson leaves Hull and all it does is covers operating costs and doesn't help us get out of this predicament we find ourselves in.
We will never see another penny for Ryan Gauld and Armstrong is a normal lad who is happy as long as he is playing and will happily stay with Celtic the rest of his days as he has plans for after he stops playing.
Fuck you Thompson.

Firstly, on topic, I wish Robertson all the very best in his career. Was top notch for us and seems tocspeak highly of United - others like his I wouldn't care if he never played another game of football.
As for the money - yup - it will cover our losses. Good! It's a sign of the club their responsibilities.
If we all get past the 'Thompson lied/Thompson sold those 2, then we are where we are. Had United paid off the dross which is still in our squad, we wouldn't have any money to sign players. Say for instance you are donaldson - so for instance you are on 1.5k a week and are contracted for another year. Would you accept a 10k pay off with no other clubs interested or do you hold out and collect 78k for tue year. Had we done things like bin st Andrews, we'd still have to negotiate out of the contract and would have cost us a fortune and we'd be short on training facilities. Do you think cammy bell and tony andreau would have come to tannadice if we were training at the cairdy?
It's shite at tannadice just now. We know it, the players know it and the board know it. But we can only piss with the cock that we've got. We can't keep the books in check and pay off a bunch of losers and invest in a new team. The majority of our big earners are away at the end of the season and if we don't get up (I'm not hopeful) then we are going to see massive cuts.
Roll on Thompson meeting the fans - let's hope it helps to explain the financial situation

In terms of Robertson, the best thing to happen for us would be a biding war between a few clubs down south. Villa are also interested in Robertson, bankrolled by the Chinese billionaire and Steve Bruce as boss.
The more clubs willing to put in an offer, his value will only increase.
Another possible sell on this summer will be Johnny Russell. Birmingham, Fulham and Sheffield Wednesday are looking to but him from Derby.

There was something on a football investigative website that suggested the Gauld transfer contained a £1m final payment if no sell on - cant recall where but think a link was posted on here a while back.
Anyone keep a link?

Armstrong tell you that himself like?
Last time I spoke to him, there was interest from Southampton and he was keen as fuck to have a crack. He also fancies a move abroad before he's done.
I don't think the sell on will help us at the rate we are burning cash, but armstrong has a determination to play at the highest level he can - something I would like to see in our current playing staff.

Heard a wee whisper Everton are interested in Robertson also.

If Robbo does get sold and we get a million for part of the deal this will only fill in some of the hole we are in these days, our huge weekly losses still need adressing ASAP with a new business model put in place at the club.
I wish Robbo all the best where ever he goes.

Its higher than 10% for robertson. That was info given to me from DR.

Done deal according to the Daily Mirror.
Will be announced as soon as the window opens in June.

It's in the Mirror once again and they're seldom right. Besides, Liverpool want Ryan Sessegnon as back up to Milner next season apparently. Not convinced this will happen.

Aye - paying our way.... either way, the debts have to be paid - so if we can pay off in a oner it will release funds which will have been set aside.

So, let's be honest, it therefore does matter how much 'we' get.

I'm a wee bit late to get back to you, Scarpia: but it was on the Football Leaks site.
Don't bother trying to open that link, it doesn't work now.
The story, from January 2016, indicated that United still own 20% of Ryan's sell on value, as far as I recall.
Overall, it's pretty sad that we are concerning ourselves with where the next sell on value is coming from.
However, it's realistic that we are looking to gain cash from these clauses, given the dreadful situation the authorities have allowed Scottish football to get into.
I'm disappointed that anyone would try to score points over this state of affairs.

Yeah remember we got told that the club still owned a % of Ryan Gauld.
So looks like we could get a fair bit in the summer from Robertson and gauld

Would it be too much to hope Armstrong or Russell are also on the move?
