Mark Wilson released his own statement to distance himself from being involved.
United defender Mark Wilson had earlier stated that he had tried to "calm a matter down" in Ashton Lane on the night in question. The 30-year-old, who played with Zaluska at Celtic, released a statement through a spokesperson, which read: "There has been a lot of publicity surrounding events on Sunday night in Ashton Lane."Mark Wilson would like to clarify matters regarding himself."Mark was out for a meal with his wife and some other couples."On his way home with his wife, they came across his friend and former team-mate Lukasz Zaluska."Mark tried to calm a matter down and latterly to help Lukasz as he was in a distressed situation."

Club released a very brief statement saying they are investigating the conduct of two players. Apart from the obvious one who is being linked, who is the other player? Maybe just the fact Wilson was out the night before he was playing? I hope we don't have two lads being investigated by the polis

I'd seen that the guy who resembles a cartoon character was there but first time I've heard he was involved in the actual attack. Worrying. Saying that, I've been hoping for an excuse to drop him.

You know what I don't get about this whole thing, you've got players from 6 or 7 clubs all out together it would seem, can't all be coincidence they were all in the same place on a Sunday night.
Why the fuck would you be out socialising with players from other clubs? Maybe it's just me, but not really into that.

Going by Mark Wilson's statement Zaluska wasn't part of their party they just 'came across him' at the end of the night.
No idea why Goodwin was there with Utd players. After elbowing Armstrong and Rankin last season i'm a tad surprised our players are perhaps 'pally' with him.
Ashton Lane is a notorious haunt of Scottish footballers.Maybe it's just purely coincedental there was a few in the same vicinity at the same time.

Doesn't matter whether Zaluska presses charges or not. Judging by media attention its had there is no way that the PF wont press charges against whoever was responsible.
We just got to hope for the best outcome which looks unlikely eh

Yeah, I know, suppose I'm just thinking out loud, seems a weird mix of characters all in the same spot at the same time. And it's our boys who get in the bother, or at least it looks that way.

Now I have a couple of issues here
What the fook were our players doing out at 12.30am on a Sunday night / Monday Morning with training the next morning, now either:
1. They were (as stated ) all out for a meal, now I've taken Mrs Debates out for a few meals in my time but none have ever seen us eating until after midnight and even more so if I were to be running about a football field the next morning so that's a load of bollocks IMHO.
2. More likely - They were out yes maybe for a meal but it ended up with drinking and they had a few too many scoops and got into some sort of altercation. Again WTF they are are thinking being out till that time with training the next day.
Now next issue is what's gone on as your no telling me that Zaluska was hit that hard that he was unable to see who hit him, that's the first thing you'd do is to get an idea do who smacked you and if there was witnesses about they would tell you so his statement is a load of shite too!
Be interesting to see what happens from here but I'm actually quite angry that our players never seem to get the message about keeping themselves out of bother

It's not really a problem exclusive to our club though is it?

Saying they are 'In the dock' is just a really shameful way of phrasing that headline. Journalists/Editors going as far as they can without actually saying outright that they believe they are criminals. Poor show.

Wilson and Paton not in the squad for Saturday

Wow, this has escalated then, I just cannae see why Paton would lamp Zaluska?
He comes across as a really nice, sensible guy who apprcaites what he has playing for United, obviously we all have our buttons that can be pressed but it seems out of character from what limited info I know about him.
Am I going to gave to change my avatar again to stop me getting battered from Celtic fans now?
