Re: Dundee utd v falkirk

We were'na brilliant but it was a no bad performance overall, one of the better ones of the Season.

Falkirk were preffy naff. Where they had the upper hand was their ability to get from their own box to ours. A number of times, a ball-out fae their keeper then 4 or 5 passes and they were down the park right up to our box.

1st 10 mins we seemed to do a lot more defening they did.

Murray shoulda had 2 in the 1st half. 1 miss to the left and 1 to the right. He slipped on his erse in ane of them. There was the ball he put across to Big Mick in the box, where he slipped tae. Murray slipped a few times in the 1st half. Mibbee wisna such a good idea to water the pitch right before the game.

Murray's goal kept us ahead for over 30 mins. Great bit of play for his goal. Similiar 2nd attempt - shoulda scored but hit the phuckin post. Andreu had a couple of good attempts, 1 to the left, and the other straight to the keeper. Think Allardyce had a shot hit the post. Flood tried to chip running along the by-line but lumped it into the ET.

The free-kick that gave them the equalizer - Falkirk player doing an impersonation of a phuckin chimpanzee jumping onto Tony's back.Ball in. No challenge. Free header in. Poor defending. Sh1te.

Last 10 mins Falkirk didna give up.

NO the worst Ref I've seen, but he did let a few free-kicks go which should been in our favour. Couple spring to mind.
1st half - where Big Mick is pulled doon just on the edge oe their box. (The GF Lino missed that ane tae).
2nd half - Murraymints is grabbed fae the back running doon the wing. Big Mikk is pushed over with 2 hands.
2nd half - was Big Mick fouled in the box?
Hiippo shoulda been carded for multiple fouls. Murray gets a Yellow for trying to block free-kick.
Bad enough when you're playin against a chuntish lot like Falkirk, but when you're playing against the Ref ana.

1 positive to take from the game was that we had a good few chances, just a pity we never benefited from them.
A game we shoulda won IMO.

Agree.  Sort of says it all though doesn't it? That was hard watching today.

Re: Dundee utd v falkirk

Spittal is a absolute joke, should never play again until he actually has the fucking courage to take a man on or drive with the ball, passenger every week

Re: Dundee utd v falkirk

I thought allardice done fine for us
We should have had the game wrapped up ages before they equalised very poor looking at it over the 90.

Again lucky to hold on for the point as they pummeled us last ten

Re: Dundee utd v falkirk

Simon......

He falls on his arse all the time because he ' s no very good, but our best up front so far this season.

If he was wearing proper studs instead of his baffies  .......would probably still fall over, because he's no very good at all as proved today with his wasted chances. We suffer him gladly because he breaks formation to give us 2 up front, tries and scores odd goal .....but isn't a good player at all.

Great to see someone giving 100 % though.

Re: Dundee utd v falkirk

I find it bizarre that folk have walked away from that game today and decided Blair Spittal warrants being singled out for criticism despite there being at least 5 worse performances for us today.

Not sure which of our pacy flying wingers anyone wants in his place to fly past the full backs and go on mazies.

Thought Allardice done well, only ever seen him at c/h, but he looked composed enough in c/m and passed well enough.

Biggest problem today was the absolute waste of our best player out wide.  He caused problems every time he came inside but it was few and far between.  He needs to play centrally.  We don't have a lot of talent, so have to get the best out of our best players.

Your on the wind up hahah spittal is a Fucking joke, gets the ball and looks for the easy option every time, will be absolutely delighted when he's gone next season

Re: Dundee utd v falkirk

TheShed, mind I was just joking there. If Spittal hadn't been subbied, I doubt we'd have dropped two points.

All my ire tonight is aimed towards Raymond, for turning a winning situation into a potential loss. We'd have been as well losing.

Whatever happened, we will likely be facing playing Morton 3 times in seven days now.

Picking on wrong midfeilder here "......Flood and to a lesser degree Andreu let us down today.

Andreu was played wide left, absolutely wasted out there, not his fault.

Re: Dundee utd v falkirk

Spittal would be fine at Right back.

Not of the required standard further forward up the park. But he certainly isn't alone in that regard.

The 11 that started today would've been fine if it was 352 with Spittal, Robson wing backs and Andreu central behind the front 2 as it was the 442 with Andreu wide just wasted our best player.

The Spittal criticism is just the usual, him and Fraser get it all the time, yet there are normally far worse performers (certainly was today).  Some folk just see what they want to see.

Re: Dundee utd v falkirk

The team normally don't lose as much when Spittal is playing.

Just to give some balance.

Agree with TEK though.I think he could be a option at full back.

Re: Dundee utd v falkirk

That last 10 mins was an embarrassment. Falkirk were able to step up a gear that we couldn't cope with for whatever reason. Doesn't look good for a playoff (if we get there) In saying that, we should have been at least 2 up before they scored.

agrèe with that Murdoch plays with a bit of aggression something we are well short off.
Spittal was pish yesterday he was not the only one Flood and Andreu were also poor. The difference is Spittal goes into hiding when he is having a poor game Flood and Andreu keep showing for the ball and playing for the team.

Re: Dundee utd v falkirk

If Allardice hadn't been booked I suspect Flood would've been subbied instead of him. Flood hadn't trained all week and looked absolutely knackered in the last 10 mins. Spittal offers nothing going forward but agree that as a wing-back he could do a job.

Telfer chose the wrong time to have his worst game of the season. Our problems yesterday stemmed from not taking chances obviously but also our complete and utter inability to keep the ball and kill the game in the last 10 minutes.
