Yet another rumour (hopefully not true)

Heard tonight that Sean Dillon was summoned into Stephen Thompson's office in the past few days and informed to tell his team mates that win bonuses and league position bonuses were being cut/canceled as the club were drastically trying to cut costs.

Dillon apparently refused to pass on the info. And rightfully so (if true).

That type of info should be communicated by the Chairman to his playing staff.

Anyway as i said in the thread title i hope it's incorrect info but have no reason to disbelieve the person who told me.

Re: Yet another rumour (hopefully not true)

That would be a breech of contract therefore all contracts could be ripped up if the players requested so, maybe this is Thompson's thinking in cutting costs, getting rid of any deadwood (aren't they all) who are contracted here after this season.

Re: Yet another rumour (hopefully not true)

P.S. win bonuses are something Thompson has been able to save money on this season so imagine the state we would be in if we won the percentage of games we should have?

That fact alone leads me to believe the rumour is bollocks.

Re: Yet another rumour (hopefully not true)

It's Ray and the players who have been successfully cutting the win bonuses and league position bonuses, ST must be rubbing his hands after every inept performance away from home.

Re: Yet another rumour (hopefully not true)

I doubt there is any substance to this to be honest

Re: Yet another rumour (hopefully not true)

Wouldn't surprise me if it was true.  In fact wouldn't surprise me if this actually happened 3 months ago rather than the last few days.

Re: Yet another rumour (hopefully not true)

Doubt there is any substance to this: to fail to pay the contracted figures would surely break the SFA's strict contract rules (call Sandy Bryson) and we'd be in serious trouble for not paying our footballing debts.

Re: Yet another rumour (hopefully not true)

What happened when Eddie Thompson cut the players bonuses and/or wages?

Did the players agree to it at the time?i forget.

I. certainly remember hearing Derek McIness refused to agree to a cut iirc.

Re: Yet another rumour (hopefully not true)

Im sure yer normal everyday win bonus will be agreed at the start of the season between Dillon and thompson/southern. Maybe theres an alleged fall out with play off bonuses. Who knows .

Re: Yet another rumour (hopefully not true)

Don't think win bonuses will have been a problem during the 'blip'... and it's hard to believe they'll be on any kind of bonus for finishing fourth (assuming they're capable of clinging on, which I doubt)
