Re: Dundee utd v falkirk

Not heard anything about Bell, hopefully he makes it, Zwick starting really shouldn't be an option.

Lose this and there's no chance of 2nd.

Re: Dundee utd v falkirk

Can't see us winning,Falkirk seem to have our card marked and have stuffed us (deservedly) twice.

They will doubtless target our weaknesses particularly at full back and i expect Aird and Hippolyte to give us a torrid time.

Every player has to be at their best for this one.

Re: Dundee utd v falkirk

Peculiarly, the referee on Saturday is Euan Anderson............. again. The only other times he's refereed us in the league this season have been against Falkirk, twice. I wonder why this situation has arisen? And why we haven't questioned it?

The 3-0 defeat at Grangemouth was deserved, but Anderson let Miller off with every bit of gamesmanship in the book, and our defenders were naive. However, he also managed to miss Miller's very late challenge from the back on Spittal, which led to Falkirk's penalty and second goal, and Spittal's injury.

I expect Miller to start, and hope our defenders and coaching team are prepared for the tactics employed by Falkirk. And, in a change from our softness, I would like to think our management team would try to have a word with the referee before the game, by way of warning. Other teams do this.

Falkirk's defence is not good, I'd like to think we could take advantage of it, but we lack pace.

Re: Dundee utd v falkirk

Bell doubtful according to the tully. Bad news because Zwick is absolutley abysmal, he will never make a keeper. RM is probably as amazed as the rest of us at just how shite he is.

Three games only and the same fixture, grounds for protest but we really are getting refereeing that's shit enough without bringing more down around us if we complain......Ciftci and ST have got us enough payback in recent times without asking for more unfortunately.
Time to get the elbows and studs into the game and go look after ourselves instead of waiting for ref help that ain't coming.

Re: Dundee utd v falkirk

We're getting beaten and it won't be the referee to blame

Probably not but don't you think yer pessimism is becoming anti United in the hope that doom makes yer agenda successful?

Incredible gaff by Anderson. Spittal in possession is taken out, injured and out for weeks, yet no foul far less the booking the challenge merited and Falkirk score their 2nd when Spittall is off and United down to 10 men. As Pat says we the fans know exactly how Falkirk will be set up just as we knew how St Johnstone would be set up in their games against us. Suspect Ray will probably stick to his guns and allow Falkirk to play to their strengths again instead of constantly bombarding their weak slow defence from the off

Re: Dundee utd v falkirk

I honestly am at a loss these days as to what the starting XI should be.

But i would go for (don't ask me why).A (4-1-2-1-2) with Flood acting like a 'sweeper' infront of the back 4 in a free role.

...................Bell....................
VDS..Durnan...Edjenguele..Robson
..................Flood.........
......Spittal..........Telfer.......
.................Andreu.........
.....Mikkelsen......Murray.........

Subs - Zwick,Dillon,Dixon,
            Nicholls,Kuate,Coote,VDV

Re: Dundee utd v falkirk

👆
That was our back 4 that almost broke the DUFC record for clean sheets back in the early Winter.

Time to get back to basics and defend as a team first and foremost and fight, bite and scratch for every 3 points.

would be delighted with a 1-0 win on Saturday tbh.

Re: Dundee utd v falkirk

It's a home game against Falkirk for fuck sake. We're Tom kite but hardly out the realm of possibility that we can win this fixture.  They're every bit as bad as we are.

Was impressed with him early this season at c/h.  Wouldn't be disappointed if he started beside Edge, certainly isn't any worse than the other options.

Re: Dundee utd v falkirk

Watched a wee bit of training today and him and wato were looking like the main centre Mids in the drills, willo and Mikkelsen trained aswell

Re: Dundee utd v falkirk

HT 0-0. Really dull game, pre-season like.  Should be 2 up from defensive gifts but we're not, standard.

Re: Dundee utd v falkirk

Honestly I reckon we've a  chance to get past the playoffs to that premier league tie where we'll get fucking murdered.  Utterly shite league this.  Standard of football I've watched this year has been shit.

That was dire.

Re: Dundee utd v falkirk

over the 90mins we should have won the game. 2 massive chances for Murray in the 1st half . Agree that the overall standard is poor but that sums up Scottish football not just Div 1. Some decent performances today  Robson and Murdoch both pretty solid. Downside outmuscled yet again particularly in the last 10mins. RM should have put toshney on for the last 10

Re: Dundee utd v falkirk

Lets be honest that was gash unfortunately.  Should have won that comfortably but again as soon as mckinnon makes subbies it all goes tae pot. Defensively falkirk are poor and unfortunately we wernt good enough to capitalise.

Re: Dundee utd v falkirk

That was a dull dull affair, hard ti watch.

Murray took his goal well but should of hud another 2 - not good enough

Flood&Allardice ineffective in midfield, Telfer woeful when he come on **** me

sh!t3 last 10 minutes lucky no to loose in the end, when they hut the post.

Spittal couldna beat the first man with his crossing and done nothing as usual

Andreu very quite, Again!

MUST WIN TUESDAY !!!!!!!
