Old firm player you most admired

any down the years who played for either of the bigoted lot that u admired? I always liked mark Walters not just because he was a decent player but the way he conducted himself at time because at almost every ground in Scotland he played at the racial abuse he received was the worst I have ever saw in my life actually embarrassed to be Scottish at the time, tannadice was one of few grounds he didn't receive horrific abuse which of course was due to fact our fans were at that time and still are amongst best in country

Tam Forsyth if we had a few like him when we were good we probably would have won a few more trophys

In recent times, Kenny Miller for having played for all three teams.

Barry Ferguson rarely lost possession, and although he is universally disliked even by Huns, I always stuck up for him in pub arguments.

Henrik Larsson was decent, too. And as a youngster, I admired Jimmy Johnstone, Willie Henderson and Davie Wilson.

Beharder, if we'd had Tom Forsyth, he'd have been sitting in the stands more often than starting.

Re: Old firm player you most admired

I really rated Mark Walters.

He was one if the few players outwith Utd i remember trying to emulate when playing as a kid.

Think it was him that made me start doing the old 'step-over' with your left/right foot then feint by your man on the opposite side.A great piece of skill i found worked well as it distracted/confused your opponent briefly (well it did back in the 80's...probably been done to death now).

I hate to say this but i also rated Mark Hately. His aggression and bravery in the air was certainly noted by me and again as a young lad playing i tried to adopt such aspects onto my own game.

I rated Larsson at Celtic too.Made goal scoring look effortless. All different types of goals too.Had great heading ability and some leap for a wee guy.Seemed to hang in the air.

Wouldn't say i 'admired' them exactly.

But did try to emulate aspects of both Walters and Hately's game to my own as a youngster.

And Larsson was just a great talent who it was hard not to be be impressed by.

Nowadays Pat Jaws woudnt last 5 mins but back in the good old days when you were allowed to tackle a player like Him was exactly what we were missing.

Re: Old firm player you most admired

Could never bring myself to admire any player that plays for either of them. Would make me feel like I need a wash.
