Width

Clearly this is what we lack big time and playing centre mids etc is no use whatsoever.

We have got to make use of what options we have and think that one potential would to be to play Dixon and Robson down the left, who where I don't know but surely this is something worth considering to get real crosses in to the box.

Re: Width

Provided Dillon and Spittal are back within the next few weeks, I'd be thinking about going 3-4-3 in the same style that Tottenham play it, two wingbacks to bomb forward with the central midfielders covering, the two attacking midfielders play narrow which is fine for us, as we have no wingers and plenty of Number 10's. Spurs have two of the best no.10's in the country in Alli and Eriksen, so rather than play one wide or have one on the bench, Poch found a formation that suited them. Same with the wing backs, he realised he had the best two attacking full backs in the world, so rather than waste them with one having to stay back while the other went forward, he put an extra centre half in which gave them both the freedom to bomb forward and join the attack.

Raymond has to be trying to find a formation that suits his players, sticking with this 4-2-3-1 when we have no wide players is lunacy.

   Durnan---Edge---Dillon
Spittal------------------ Dixon
       Willo-----Kuate/Toshney
Andreu ------------------ Telfer
               Murray

tried to tidy that up a wee bit - Tek

Yeah, I would say they are, you could make a case for Alaba, but as a pairing the two of them have been different class this season, certainly the best two full backs in the premier league, to suggest otherwise would be silly.

Re: Width

With our lack of pace/width three up front is a no brainer.

Could see 3-4-3 working and God knows Ray badly needs to try something different

Well, mate, you not only suggested but emphatically stated otherwise, saying they are the best in the world. Silly is as silly does....

Because they play for Barcelona?

Alba's extremely average, while Roberto's not even a right back, he's primarily a central midfielder who plays at right back. Barcelona have great players in the midfield and forward positions, but anyone who watches them will tell you how poor they are at the back, particularly at full back.

Re: Width

Can we no just keep it as simple as fuck ffs

If he persists with his shite 4-2-3-1:

Bell
VdS Durnan Edge Robson
Telfer Flood
Spittal Andreu Nichols
Murray

4-4-2

Bell
VdS Durnan Edge Robson
Spittal Telfer Andreu Nichols
Murray Mikkelson

4-3-3

Bell
VdS Durnan Edge Robson
Spittal Telfer Nichols
Murray Andreu Mikkelson

To me we've nae option but to pick thon Nichols, the player we 'targeted' in the summer and the man who replaced Tope. Even though hes fucking lowping hes meant to be a wide man. Spittal has to come in and keep his place on the right, his defensive qualities were pivotal to our winning run (wont call it a good run it was shite)  before Christmas. Telfer should be an automatic pick and IMO we do not need 2 x holding mids, not a fucking hope, far too defensive and not creating fuck all, he should always start before Flood too. Andreu is automatic pick and in a 4-4-2 or -4-3-3 should play just behind the strikers. back 4 shouldnt change unless VDS is injured. In that case Dillon to slot in, or Dixon if its a LB issue, Donaldson should never, ever be considered, never.

Toshney and Murdoch, like Donaldson should get no where near the team, Ali Coote should come on for Spittal or Nichols every game when its need Ray, not the fucking usual 60 min mark, if hes needed on after 20 mins get the fucking laddie on. Lets give more laddies a shot too, what have we got to lose? We're shite anyway, we wont get promoted so why no play the laddies?

Now nane of the above teams scream out width or pace but as the saying goes, piss with the cock youve got and IMO this is oor cock and this is what we have to play with (this sounds gay and wrong)

McKinnon, your a fucking joke, im just a daft oil rig worker and i can pick a better team than you, you utter fucking fraud !!!!

Would the Tottenham boys get a game for Barca?

Not for me.

Agreed, I don't think you realise just how much they've progressed in the last couple of years though, this season in particular.
