McKinnon

Apparently football's a results based industry

Rays current results are

League Win Rate (pre Xmas)    61%
League Win Rate (post Xmas)  10%
Overall League Win Rate          43%
Overall Win Rate (all comps)    49%     (includes games against Arbroath, Stranraer, Peterhead Cowdenbeath,                                                                    Partick & Ross Co)

Rays had 2 transfer windows and has brought in 10 of the 20 current first team squad as well as punting 2 other players he brought in. He's had money to spend and his budget is probably significantly bigger than the teams around and below us. around

I could understand if he had a shaky start then got better as he got more of his signings in and players got used to his tactics and was getting stronger in the run in to the business end of the season but its the other way round. Don't like ST but Ray is the big problem for me

Bring back the (real) "United Way" not the kiddy-on Martin version

Re: McKinnon

I agree, AA. It seems we can't afford to get rid, but it should be argued we can't afford to keep him.

I hate being critical of the team or management, very rarely do it and even less so on line, but we are going only one way with Raymond and his team.

Re: McKinnon

It just seems to be getting fucking worse each game

Re: McKinnon

It's brutal just now and Ray is at fault, but we can't keep changing managers without dealing with the root cause of the problem or we'll be in the same place with whoevers next this time next year.

Re: McKinnon

Toshney playing wide right for most of today's game? (Brutal!)

January winger signing again on the bench?  (When we're crying out for width! - if he's shite why sign him?)

Midfield of Toshney, Flood and Murdoch?  (Has Telfer shagged Ray's missus?)

Ali Coote surely justifies a start? (Our best player today - only played 20 mins)

We're in real danger of spending a long time in this league. If I still smoked my season ticket letter would've been up in flames.

Telfer and coote should have started imo.

Would be better giving young lads some game time now in preperation for next season

Re: McKinnon

Hopefully Ray's preparing to be some place else next year.......like far away from us.

Re: McKinnon

Mind him saying we'll see the best of this team after Christmas earlier in the season. Holy fuck dread to think how good they might get as we go on. Though last years squad was gash however these bellends have somehow managed to be even worse 😫

Re: McKinnon

Ignoring mixu, our last three managers have had good starts or periods of success before a slow decline. There's only one common denominator. Thompson's influence does not only show on the balance sheet but on the park too.

Exactly.

Re: McKinnon

Ok - I'm fascinated - I can just about get blame being thrown at ST for not being closer to Hibs but for being fourth

Do tell how this works

Just my take on it...
ST to Houston - "You need to keep us in the Top 6 or we're fucked"
ST to Sackie - "You need to keep us in the league or we're fucked"
ST to RM - "You need to get us promoted or we're fucked"

Not exactly positive motivation and I think the continual negative influence abides and outlives any new manager bounce. Folk are going on about RM and I agree he has his shortcomings but something has changed since Xmas. Despite what anyone says you don't go unbeaten for 14 games with 6 consecutive clean sheets on luck alone.

Re: McKinnon

We've forgotten how to defend. Absolute bombscare just now.
We're also not giving our opponents any respect IMO. We have boys thinking they are gonna waltz games because its bottom of the league St.mirren or Raith who have only won once in 5 months. Classic case of underestimating and not respecting teams I think. Go in expecting to steamroll teams without breaking a sweat then shite it when the teams actually turn up.

Also, we've lost the tempo we had before, we aren't moving the ball quickly anymore.
We have umpteen number 10's but lack creativity.

Genuinely don't believe lads like Matty Smith (who shone at the end of the season) would do any worse for us atm. They'd at the very least show the hunger to succeed and go on and have a career as opposed to lads who will retire/drop even further after us. Bar Andreu, Edge & Bell - none of the rest would walk into any top flight sides.

Re: McKinnon

Falkirk January signing Fraser Airds' perfomance for Canada just emphasises what an absolute crock of shit McKinnon's "January's a bad time to get quality players," statement was.

Binned after 1 day.

Yet as you say has done very well at Dens.

It concerns me the amount of trialists we've had and we currently have 2 who have been with us for weeks.

McKinnon either fussy, indecisive, can't spot a player or has poor contacts.

Or a mix of all of the above at different times.
