Beko washing machines - Beware

Ours went up in flames last night just out of the blue.Tried to haul it out into the garden on my own but the flames spread to quickly.

2 fire trucks out and a trashed kitchen and garden later and this is what's left of the fucker.

So word to the wise if you are ever buying a new machine beware of Beko.Or if you have a Beko washer just watch out, particulary if it's making any weird noises etc during it's spin.

Re: Beko washing machines - Beware

There's been issues with a few of their appliances for a while.

Shit that you've got some damage, but at least everyone's ok, think I'll stop putting mine on last thing then going to bed!

FFS Tek.

Do you mind me asking how old your washer is, and if it's under warranty.

Have the Firies told you what the cause was exactly, heating element, motor, wiring etc ?

Bill,i think it's about 3 years old.

And unfortunately it's out of warranty (think it was a year if memory serves correct). But regardless you don't expect it to go on fire eh?

No the fire chief guy never said mate.Though I'm going to get my electrics checked in this house as a matter of course.

I think it was the machine though.Quick bit of Googling tells me that i wasn't the first person to experience problems with Beko.

Re: Beko washing machines - Beware

And I always wondered why my wife insists on all appliances being off when we go out.....

Glad the family is okay, Tek.
