Was working in a house recently when fitba came up, lad was a Dunfermline fan but puss lit up when I said I'm an Arab. He told me a story about his Arab mate taking him to Old Trafford to support Utd in 84'. Had the time of his life.
He ended up on the back of the Daily Hun celebrating when aff on the sick and boss pulled him up which now adds to the memories.
That game has always been one that sticks out that I'd have loved to have witnessed. Missed out on a £40 bus and ticket to Munchengladbach as a bairn and that sticks in my mind too.
What away game do you regret missing or wished you'd been at?
???

Noucamp 87

Dens 83. Just a bit too young for it.

I missed a lot of the away European games, simply due to the sort of work I was doing at the time. So, although it was an overall defeat, the first leg of the 87 UEFA Cup Final was the one I regretted missing most.
Online!
Gladbach away in '87.
Our fans going apeshit up in the corner after witnessing us reaching a European Final after handing Borussia their FIRST EVER defeat at home in Europe. Then going on the piss with steiner's of German beer in the Rhineland post-match.
Doesn't get any better than that.

Dens '83
All the '87 European games
I was just too young tho.
1 thing I've never seen as a Utd fan is us win at parkhead, so whenever the last time that was I'd like to have been there.

Nou Camp for me would be no.1 choice for me, but TBH any European away match, as I have to admit I've never seen United ouwith these shores.

Another I wish I made was the relegation escape at Inverness when Robson scored the pen.
Can't find any footage but mind seeing some cracking footage of the fastest running pitch invasion I've ever witnessed and a guy on crutches with one leg bombing it towards the halfway.
Anyone able to find this?

Was lucky enough to be at all the games previously mentioned. 1 I always regret missing was the 3-2 win at Parkheid in 83, was at a Keith Deller darts exhibition with my dad. The 5-2 win v Monaco didn't look too shabby either tbh.

Pretty sure the lad on the crutches was the same fella who notched at Tannadice recently.
On topic Dens 83 was just a bit too young.

Dad did, thats what turned him onto DUFC. That game & Experience. Too many to list for me... recently missed the sevco Semi because I could only get over for that game or the Final.
turned out well...

Think that was the game of the league winning season that created the real belief we might and could do it. What an introduction. Mine was a defeat to Dundee then same again then Oldco before I got a win.
Cracking introduction for yer Oldman Chainmail!
