great listening to stevie campbell on the zone, purring about the three behind the striker in telfer, spittal and connelly...almost there as far as first teamers...then with coote and as he said a couple of others its like we've got ready made replacements for that positiion...good stuff

Hopefully we could shift Amo on for a couple of million and have ready made replacements In Spittal and Telfer. Connolly a direct replacement for GMS.

Next up for the Development team (hate calling them that btw, should just be called reserve league) is...
V Dunfermline Tuesday evening 6pm at Tannadice.
Expect it to be a young side with the likes of Telfer,Spittal,Townsend and Smith travelling with the first team squad the following night.

Dunfermline completely dominated the game and deserved their win.Utd were pretty poor tbh.

Would've been there had it been Tannadice, in fact would've been there had it been at St Andrews, Gayfield or Station Park at the reasonable KO time that it was.
Checked for it as a live ArabZONE transmission, as it was another "home" game like the last game, but no joy.
Really hope for goals/highlights/post match.
Oh for the time like when I first got my ST, post batehinging, and we could watch the reserves on alternate weeks wi' the first team at Tannadice, so WF withdrawal was impossible.
Rant over, onwards and upwards.

34 goals scored in the last 5 games reported on TT, an average of roughly 7 per game! Can i presume you were a forward back in the day Bugs not a defender lol. Have to say how many times have we watched professional football at the highest level and cried out " this game desperately needs a goal to get it going" ?
So in that sense it certainly sounds like it provides wonderful entertainment. Pity though the Club/s don't allow the fans of the U20's the use of the executive boxes at this time of year

Suppose its nothing to do with results, all about Development.... Heard Stevie Campbell talking on the zone saying they play players in all different positions to give them a different perspective ... We'd have never seen callum butcher playing center mid had it not been for this development
Offline
Absolutely agree Stobie, if they are genuine about the name "development league" then the result is the least important thing.

Think it could be a long hard season for the 20's fae now on in.
Telfer,Spittal,Connolly and Butcher are showing that they are ready to be regular first team players now and i doubt we will see much of them in the Development team fae here on in.
Means we are left with a very young team who will sink or swim without any real experience in the side (other than Mark Wilson).
Jim McLean always made sure there were a couple of hardened older pro's in his reserve sides like Wattie Smith and Gordon Wallace etc to talk the young lads through the games and learn fae them.
Think we have such a young side that they are maybe being outmuscled a wee bitty by older, more streetwise teams.
It will be a steep learning curve for them and tbh if even 2 or 3 players out of what's left make it into the first team Stevie's doing well.
