I love supporting Dundee United as much as I ever have, if it's in your bones there's nothing you can do about it.

Love my Wife to bits, would do anything for her, however the same thrill isn't there as when we started going out.
Instead of sneaking of to the disabled bogs at a function, or the one leg out the trackie bottoms whilst her parents were downstairs, the scramble to get your punders up as they come up the stairs, the level of excitement just isn't there.
It's now quick hump when both the bairns are out, or maybe a cheeky wee handjob on the couch, if she's not too tried from work etc
The only time we get to let loose is once or twice a year when we get a couple of days away.
And we get frustrated by it all, are at each others throats and sometimes we fall out.
So that's where I am with United, they used to excite me, thrill me and I looked forward to seeing them, but now it feels like i'm going through the motions.
You still get cheeky wee handjobs on the couch?? You don't know you are living.
He has the audacity to moan about this as well.
Incredible scenes.

Walter Scott, Rabbie Burns, Hugh MacDiarmid and Robert Louis Stevenson combined with Arthur Conan Doyle and aided by William McGonagall couldn't have come up with anything more moving than this.

Do you still enjoy watching/following Utd?
I have to say a big part of my love (or perhaps enthusiasm is a better word) for the game has subsided in the past couple of years.
Maybe it will come back.I hope it does.
But i just feel quite apathetic about our whole situation at the moment.
Am i alone in this?
Your not alone in this at all tek to many teams play for a draw now or to nick a 1-0 hardly any manager has any interest in playing good football, and most managers especially in the uk are boring bastards who show absaloutely no passion in dugout area

I don't enjoy football much at all these days. I've never really cared much about English sides or Champion's League - the outcomes don't put me up nor down.
United have always been very different, the result does make or break my weekend. But, I can only name four occasions where I've enjoyed watching us in recent times: The Semi Final against Aberdeen, the derby at Tannadice on the final day of the season, the Scottish Cup game in Dingwall and beating Hibs at Tannadice.
Typically, I have to drag myself to the game. I don't actually want to go, but I do out of duty. There are loads of other ways I could spend my Saturday doing things I enjoy far more. I love United, but by God, it's hard going at the moment.
On Saturday, I was close to walking out at half time. I just didn't care about the game, the players or the outcome. That's starting to happen more and more. I really hope things change but the slap dash, DGAF, 'F-it, that'll do' attitude that's rife at Tannadice really isn't helping.

I agree with this, but had to Google DGAF. However, it's getting to the stage these days where I DGAF.

Echo the sentiments on here.
Love United but it's almost a chore to go to games at times these days.
Crap atmosphere and crap football.

A wee PS to say that I enjoyed Dunfermline away when Cammy Bell saved three penalties, I felt genuinely privileged to witness that and proud of my club that day.

Seen a tweet from Ceres Arabs saying 'i don't even get angry anymore'.
I know exactly what he means.
Never went today and had no desire too either.
Never even listened to Arabzone.
Done some work on my kitchen and was only half listening to Radio Scotland in the background.
Never cursed, swore or even tutted when i heard about the goals we lost.Just shook my head and got back to my banging and hammering.

Nay point getting angry anymare, eventually just accepted that we're p!5h.
Where to start..
We hud no creativity the 3 behind big Tam were all playing hide&seek
Murray was erratic, Andreu looked knackered and Coote just doesn't do anything really. (Young I know)
I see a load oh people saying Telfer should Always be in the team, for what? He offers nothing. against Ayr his passing was terrible and today he only past sideways or back and he doesn't sprint aboot like flood so never wins it back, at least with flood he's in the team because he gives us a but oh dig, Telfer has nothing IMO.
Back 4 just looked like a bag oh jaggy nettles ah gem, actually thought Dixon started to come into a gem.
And then there's Zwick and I'll leave it there.

This is fitba. Everyone has a tipping point, that's why new fans don't increase the fan base.
I'm as low as you get as an Arab and in my 40's.
I get folk packing it in or going less.
Money is a good reason for 90 odd percent to go less and the return is shite but won't pack it in, but find it hard to justify spending £50 all in(travel, ticket, food in ground, toy fae shop) on taking 6 year old plus me(£20 odd. Wee lad will want to come too soon so I'll be hitting £100 a game.
Can't do season ticket as I work half the Saturday's in a year.
The fact I don't enjoy fitba right now is probably due (again). Personally witnessed a team over achieve in a style 90 odd% plus that support other teams on the planet will never see. They still support their team.
Some teams supported have mair brain-damage to suffer than us.
We've been spoiled. This is a dunt. ST will loose fans more than the shite visuals prices or tactics if things carry on the same as it adds a dimension that's intolerable without taking the usual fitba stuff on the chin.
The fans that go week in week out have a realistic tipping point but raining in the rest to share the same stance is hindered by the rest having a delay in being worn down to the same and the slagging they get for not being there yet splits the support.
Hope we can Unite somehow before we implode against each other and the club.
Whoever is at the forefront of the Foundation, Fed and Fans United better be good at what's required. If not I worry we become more un united, split and more give up.
I will support us in any league in any format and hope to travel again to parts of Europe that you wouldnae take yer family too with like minded Shed boys and girls again.
But if it's Cowdenfuckenbeath I'll do the same. (Won't take the kids there either)

I was listening to the radio rather than arabzone. Was pissed off for a short period at the end but that was quickly forgotten as i played out in the garden with the young lad for a while.

Totally agree, season ticket holder and will be again next season, only as I canny give it up and really want my 6yr old to be trapped in the same pain as we are for the rest o his life. (Surely social services can intervene)
Tannadice is so quite most weeks as the fitba's shite and we've all pretty much accepted it. I'm past getting outraged by them now, just sit there and shake my head most weeks. Canny see an end to us being shite and honestly think we'll be in this league for the next 3-4 years if things stay the same off the pitch as well as on it.

Haven't missed a home game for years and rarely travel away due to work commitments but Ayr last Tuesday was a struggle to get up for and was close to not even bothering. Will be there on Saturday as usual but cant say I'm looking forward to It at all.

See when we win something everyone always says it means more because of the lows we have experienced.
We use it as a measuring stick of what seperates us from old firm glory hunters.
Even though a lot of their hilarity / misery was self inflicted, I had a grudging respect for the funsters across the road kept turning up.
Granted the football on display is shocking, but hopefully we can stem the apathy and with fans groups coming to the fore now, force the changes required (ownership and attitude) and come out of it stronger.
One things for certain - self pity isn't going to turn things around.

Bang on EHA.
To appreciate the good best you need the lows and the stress that goes with it. Same shit that makes a last gasp equaliser or a result that saves yer team from a terrible fate a celebration to remember.

I missed my first home league match in my time following United (36 years) through my own choice last Tuesday, it didn't bother me one bit, two years ago i would never have thought about missing a game, i have also given up 5-a-sides as i always found watching good football made you want to play football, i haven't seen good football since January 2015.
