Or to be even more specific.
Do you still enjoy watching/following Utd?
I have to say a big part of my love (or perhaps enthusiasm is a better word) for the game has subsided in the past couple of years.
Maybe it will come back.I hope it does.
But i just feel quite apathetic about our whole situation at the moment.
Am i alone in this?

No, hardly watch any non Utd games now. Utd games haven't been enjoyable for a long time.
Still love DUFC but all the non-football crap around the club is ruining any little enjoyment that's left from the on-field stuff. Convinced that it's also the main reason we're struggling so badly on the park as well.
I could have been today, but I just didn't bother, not like me, and really didn't miss it. It's an easy habit to get out of and do other stuff, once ur out it's harder to get back into it regularly, Next seasons ST sales will reflect this I reckon and then where does the club go?

No, something in me died the day the chairman sold our soul. Still go but only because it's in my blood, don't enjoy it.
Offline
The lack of urgency and bottom line fight for the win kills what it was and now is for me.
Today summed that shit up.

I'm not just talking about Utd either btw.
i used to enjoy getting together with pals to watch Scotland games or big Champions Leagues games.Never do this anymore and don't even bother watching Motd or Sportscene a lot of the time.
Never watch live games anymore either.Unless it's Scottish cup Final,Champions League Final,World Cup etc.
Football has just went a bit stale for me and you genuinely don't really see a lot of teams who go out to win games AND entertain in every game. There are probably only about half a dozen club sides in Europe who do.
Ach maybe I'm just getting older and it's natural.
But don't seem to get the same highs and lows these days about the game anymore.
Feel like passion has been drained out of it for me and as above a lot of my 'support' for Utd at least is out of some kind of 'duty' or obligation to do so.
I don't like this feeling tbh.I hope it changes.
Offline
Maybe it is age, but I personally think it's money. In every way possible it's ruined the sport. It isn't a sport anymore imo, clubs don't care about trophies, they care about earnings.
4th place in the EPL is better than 5th and an FA cup win for example. I don't know any fan who thinks like that who's over 25. It's the game that's changed, not us.

No, I actually fucking hate it. From the multicolored slippers, the ball on a fucking plinth when the players come out, fucking yellow balls all fucking season, pathetic national setup with a group of mental fucking midgets, soulless English Premier League, Leicester sacking their manager, borderline fucking mental foreign owners.
Then there's UTD. I've honestly never been so depressed on football.

I'll let people closer to home comment on united
football feels like when your best mate gets a new posh girlfriend and doesn't want to hang out with you anymore, because you still drink tennents and still listen to the stone roses, while he's pretending he likes craft beer and adele.
it is a shite situation and it hurts, but what can you do? you know things were better in the old days, but they think they're better than you now and have moved on, do you cut your losses or stick with your mate cos you had so many good times?

Clear that there's a lot of being "down in the dumps" ATM. It's only just sinking in that it's unlikely we will win the league over Hibs. Think we should be ready to accept that.
Couple of guys alluded to money connection. I mean what is it that the EP Clubs get from Skyhigh TV every year? £150M each ? More than whole of the SPFL Clubs get together. Phuckin pathetic if you ask me. Of coorse, the gate prices are much higher, so the supporters themselves contribute to this. Eg. West Ham v Sunderland £56, West Ham v Chelsea/Arsensal/Man U etc £81. Canna comment on other Clubs or Season Ticket prices
Even the coverage on Coonsil TV is p1sh. So you end with guys paying to watch EP gehms on Sly Sport, or goin to the boozer to waath them, but never actually going to a gehm. I mean it's only £20 quid to get inta most gehms, but they'd rather spend that in the pub. Phuckin hate these chunts.
Back to the OP, have to admit that I'm probably no gonna go to many more away gehms this Season, and that'll save me from losing earnings if I need to ask for a Setirday aff.

I'm pretty much the same as some of the other posts - only games I really watch other that United are the cup finals.
I watched the Sutton v Arsenal game last week, it it had been Man United or Chelsea etc v Arsenal or if the game had been at Arsenal's ground I wouldn't have watched it. I only watched as it was at Sutton's ground so that brought some interest to it.
Hate the Champions League and Europa League, load of boring, utter shite. Oh for the days of knock-out European cups.
Hate the shitey coloured boots players wear, the fact you can't tackle and that every young player apparently wants to be a number fucking 10.
As for United, yes it's really hard at the moment, I'm probably only going out of sheer loyalty, but at the same time if I didn't go I know i'd miss it as the club has been part of my life for so long and given me so many good times over the years.
I enjoy going to the United games, but that's mainly to see my mates and not the football.
Live EPL and particulary CL football bores me to tears.I'll match match of the day and would probably watch CL highlights if they were on at a decent time.
Modern, possession football is the problem and the fact that everyone is trying to do it.The fact is most players, esp in Scotland, are not technically good enough to play that way.
I agree with a lot of annanarab's posts about more direct and attacking football. We need to play the percentage game. Far too often our set-pieces rely on winning not just the first ball, but the second or even 3rd. Just put the ball into an area that our players can attack ffs.

No, it fucking ruins weekends now.
I still love going to the snug meeting the mates and the travelling to away game but this is the worst football ive ever seen in 30 years of following united. its fucking dreadful
A wise man once told me 'its all about the beers' and hes bang right, i left at half time yesterday, pissed right off, ive been away for 6 weeks and with the Ayr game being moved this was my only chance to see us and it fucking ruined my day. Go back to pub and pubs full of like minded pissed off people, we are so so bad just now, i blame McKinnon 100% in this, this is his team, his fucking about with team selections every fucking week, the negative formations, 2 holding mids at home and 1 striker at home FUCK OFF YOU PRICK!!!!

I had hospo yesterday and was in one of the wee boxes (good day not a fan of sitting there though) anyway Rugby was on the tellys in the box and majority of us were watching that than the football as it was more exciting. Desperate days

No it's dire these days to watch.
Atmosphere in ground is stale .......probably starts when teams announced and you're already there or arriving saying wtf before the game kicks off.
Feels like a punishment for 90 mins some games when you know it should be so much better.

Been falling out of love with the game for some time. No interest in the national side under Strachan, I don't watch Champions League and its been years since I watched Sportscene - Countryfile is far better.
The rot started with Bosman 2 which starved smaller clubs of essential income, then got a whole lot worse when Sky and the misnamed Champions League's financing of the "big" clubs killed off competitive domestic football
United's problems increased having owners who using the club as a cash cow rather than a passion to be invested in and increased further with recent managers adoption of the current fad for pointless passing non-attacking football which is both unattractive to watch and spectacularly unsuccessful.
Last weeks game was the final straw for me - didn't go to yesterday's game, didn't listen on azone, didn't check out match report on tv/radio. I went online later and saw the comments which suggested I hadn't missed anything worthwhile.
"Love" not currently in the air anywhere near "Annan Towers"

People around us were saying the same yesterday about what a chore the whole thing has become. The sad thing is the Hibs game at Tannadice back in early December seemed like a bit of a wake up call for the support and the club as a whole, the place was rocking that night and the team responded with a decent performance in spells and a hardfought and deserved win. However, we never built on that momentum in the transfer window or, in terms of the managers tactics and things are now worse than they were at the end of last season atmosphere wise around the club and at the games.
These threads seems like a long time ago now:
Christ even the Plumber is sounding almost optimistic!

I also support Everton - enjoy watching them and been down a few times. Away back down on 15th April for the Everton vs Burnley game.
Its a more enjoyable experience on a whole. I can bevvy til close to kick off in the brick then head upto goodison, into the concourse and help myself to a couplke of ice cold chang beers to wash down something I pick up from one of hte many kiosks sellign all sorts of terrific food.
Get involved in a great atmosphere, dont get treated like a reprobate for standing up.
Going to see united - I get a bovril that removes the skin from the mouth to wash down a pie thats hotter than hiroshima around the edges and warm in the middle. Thats after I manage to crack my way into the pie of course.
I had an issue the other week where I was in the ground waiting for my mate who then called off at 2.30. I asked a steward if I could move to GF to meet up with another mate, was told no. Seats are allocated etc etc. It was a home game to Queen of the south. Hardly a big crowd.

Used to love watching all football, now I just watch United games or if there's nothing else on Football can be on in the background, but i'm not really tuned in...
Even United now isn't entralling.....someone up above said it was like a mate with a new burd, for me it's more like...
A long term relationship...
Love my Wife to bits, would do anything for her, however the same thrill isn't there as when we started going out.
Instead of sneaking of to the disabled bogs at a function, or the one leg out the trackie bottoms whilst her parents were downstairs, the scramble to get your punders up as they come up the stairs, the level of excitement just isn't there.
It's now quick hump when both the bairns are out, or maybe a cheeky wee handjob on the couch, if she's not too tried from work etc
The only time we get to let loose is once or twice a year when we get a couple of days away.
And we get frustrated by it all, are at each others throats and sometimes we fall out.
So that's where I am with United, they used to excite me, thrill me and I looked forward to seeing them, but now it feels like i'm going through the motions.

Only go every week to see my mates and have a laugh, the football is totally irrelevant yet still manages to ruin most weekends.
