After having to padlock that Colin Stewart thread that went South pretty damn quickly i have decided to implement a '3 strikes rule' on here....for everyone.
Any abuse of a fellow poster from hence forth will be met with.
1st offence - 1 month ban
2nd offence - 6 month ban
3rd offence - Permanent ban (including I.P. address ban)
My repeated requests for civilised discussion without abuse have seemingly fell on deaf ears....so i am left with no alternative but to start implementing some rules on here....and they are not up for discussion.
This type of behaviour stops now.

👍 it's not plesent to read boys having a go at each other. We don't need to agree but Nae need for personal insults.

great idea, football is a sport that should bring ppl together, yes there is different views and opinions but we all want the same thing , to see our beloved club prosper. P2BAA

So in the last year on here, BOTH threads relating to Indie United fans getting answers to questions from inside Tannadice, that don't fit into the view held by The Usual Suspects, get locked by the actions of The Usual Suspects? Foo Kin guid ane.

The thread was meant to help those not in the know (such as myself) to get answers to questions relating to the club. I find the atmosphere can be toxic and has been for the last couple of seasons - frankly I'm bored of it. I want us to be able to move on as a group and the only way I can see is to educate people (again talking about myself here). With again bit of knowledge, it's easier to accept past decisions.
Apologies if this has wound folk up the wrong way - likewise, I hope others found it an interesting read in parts.
Will I attempt to get further questions come the end of the season? Probably not

good decision tek no place for personal abuse on a forum. " i may not agree with what you have to say but I would defend your right to say it"

I don't know how the other thread escalated so quickly?
Twat dry your eyes mate

Agree there is Nae need for personal abuse.
Dave Dorward said at a meeting on Thursday that ST has cash flow to take us to the end of the season. Never said who from but no doubt another fukin loan. Wee Dutch boy with the fingers in the Dam spring to mind. Season tickets to go on sale in a few weeks.
Apart from praying that Robertson gets sold in the Summer for a sell on, does anyone have a clue what ST's plans are for Dundee United FC??
Agree that no place for abuse here.
Locking the thread sends the wrong signal though imo.

I think you're being a bit dramatic Tek
Can't say I see anything meriting bans tbh

While possibly I should have shut my puss I think fkt summed it up without actually realising it. Theres no danger Colin or southern are gonna tell an individual like yourselves anything that's gonna hurt the club. They are always gonna give you soft answers that gullible folk like you are gonna lap up.
See when you were asking them yer questions did they at anytime mention that they had to get money in pronto to survive the season or that they were to increase dode fox season ticket prices in the side sections to match the middle section prices??
Or don't really worry about the accounts that are way to be published as it's really a 5 year thing

Dramatic?
I've asked on more than one occasion for abusive and aggressive remarks towards fellow posters to cease.
One poster has singulary failed to respect that request. And infact is now being quite provocative in doing so.
I have had several PM's and whatsapp's over the past year regards this type of behaviour and it's been brought to my attention that this has actually put some previous posters off posting on the Forum.
I can't have that.

While I get that you have to have some sort of rules and I agree there isn't really any need for personal abuse, I would suggest that anyone who gets upset by anything abusive aimed at them on here really needs to man up a bit. It's only words ffs.
My bairn gives me more abuse than I've seen on here.

Tbh getting called a prick or whatever is water off a ducks back to me (Mrs Tek has called me worse 😀).
But as i say,i have had several instances of correspondence with posters on here who have told me they don't like reading abusive/aggressive posts.
Whether it brings these types of posters back?I don't know.
Probably not,actually.
But no-one can argue i haven't tried to be even-handed in running this Forum.

Were?
My point being
if you don't agree -then that is it , 1st , 2nd , 3rd
email's used to go back and forth between mods before someone got banned unless it was blatant and obvious.
I didn't see anything in that constitutes a ban in the recent past and just wondered why this thread popped up with new rules.

You were a Mod on Mad,yes.
I am on my own here so,yes,to an extent it is whatever language i deem to be unacceptable that will constitute a ban.
I have banned ONE person on here in the 34 months of the Forums existence.
Hardly an autocracy or dictatorship on here.

I'm just saying what you think might not be what the majority are thinking and if an argument ensues over the board it would be difficult for you to judge when you may agree with one over the other.

The point is Eddy.
Abuse is not on.
Regardless of who's side of the arguement i'm on i have to distance myself from that and apply some semblance of order.
And i am only talking about severe abuse here btw.
If someone says (for instance) 'what a lot of shite' i would be inclined to let it slide.
It's not a Teddy Bears picnic afterall.
At the end of the day my door is always open via PM anyway if anyone wants to discuss anything anyway, including if they think i have been harsh with them.

Never seen anything worse than 'what a load of shite'

I hold the view that if Tek is the only person moderating the forum he set up, then he is allowed to be autocratic or dictatorial if he wishes.
