The source of Nadir's petted lip?

Judging  by our captain's comment's in the Courier (and reading between the lines) Ciftci would appear to be 'frustrated' at the way we are playing and service to him,or lack thereof.

I can kinda sympathise with him because he has been starved of service post-Gauld/Robertson.

What doesn't sit well with me is the way he's almost having to be babysat the now and treated with 'kid gloves'.It's like the Manager and captain are almost having to go out their way to heap praise on him to get in his 'good books'.

Johnny Russell,David Goodwillie even at times Jon Daly had to plough a lone furrow upfront on their own, sometimes with little service.I never seen any of these players moan about it or let their heads drop so badly though.

Time for Nadir to start becoming a team player again and get the fucking finger oot.Where's that big grin that was such a regular occurence last season i wonder?

Re: The source of Nadir's petted lip?

quicker Bilate is back imo the better, if he's no liking the lone striker role then he needs to play deeper...

or you could look at it other ways...he's no happy and blaming team mates for lack of service...either way, like i said countless times in a rant over the weekend, if its no happening, make it happen...

Incidentally looks like he's got away with elbowing the Partick lad.

These things need to appear in the referee's report within 48 hours of the match and i've heard nothing this morning,so looks like he might be a lucky boy.

I've said it before but if Nadir didn't have these personality traits he'd be playing for a bigger club. Great captaincy I say. I love Dillon. A real United player. Anyone who thinks he should be dropped is mental IMHO. Deserves a new contract too.

It is clever fae Dillon,i agree.

I'm sick of hearing that Nadir 'would be playing for a bigger club' if he wasn't such a moody bastard though. No offence intended to yourself (i've heard it said countless times recently).

He's at Dundee Utd.Every one of our 11 players must work hard for 90 minutes. That's the way it is,and that's the way it's always been.

Agree. I think the reports of interested clubs have maybe turned his head a bit. If he wants a move to a bigger club, he better learn that he has to work hard all the time and turn in consistent performances every week. A bit like GMS as well. Frustrating for fans this kind of player but it's the classic "needs an arm around the shoulder" type. Worse thing that could happen is if fans start to get on his back.

Re: The source of Nadir's petted lip?

see, i accept this thing that there's flaws in his game, and if he didna hae them he'd be at a bigger club, but last season he had flaws but they were decision making, holding the ball to long etc...i never ever question his desire and attitude...if anything he wanted it to much..

this last 8 months he looks to me like he really doesn't want to play football..fuck knows, but its driving me potty..cause he's as good as anything i've ever seen play for Utd...when he's in the mood

Re: The source of Nadir's petted lip?

All said we're sitting 1 point off the top without playing particularly well in some if not most games, I'll take that and hope we can get better once we have competition for places again when players come back from injury and maybe add a couple in January's window.

Re: The source of Nadir's petted lip?

I have been waiting for this to start coming out a bit and half expected it, as when he first arrived fans of his previous clubs weren't exactly complimentary of his attitude/demenor. That said it could quite easily be put down to age, and as the season went on last season I thought it was maybe just that and he was settling. Saying that though after his Killie performance and from reports against Partick he is just going to have to knuckle down a bit and try to create it a bit himself from deeper instead of waiting for it. Not too sure he will change much though.

Re: The source of Nadir's petted lip?

He needs to shut his puss and work on his attitude. Everyone loves a trier i.e. goodie, Johnny, Noel Hunt, Danny Cads, Sandaza. When It wasn't working for these lads no one criticised them as we knew they were working hard.

Re: The source of Nadir's petted lip?

Yes. Far better attitude than Nadir.

My thoughts exactly, the guy who faked every injury under the sun to get out of playing in the winter, his attitude was far worse than Ciftci's and that takes some doing.
