Interesting interview from Ray

On the zone.
Tried to sign Alex Nicholls in the summer.
Tope allowed to leave as his worktate not good enough.
Cammy unable to force Andreu out.
Also interested to hear him talk about a big turnover in summer again. Suggests many of the lads out of contract aren't being kept on?

Re: Interesting interview from Ray

Was just about to post a similar topic WD83.  Good interview.  The carrot is there for all left at at Tannadice to do well for the rest of this season as it will determine the level that both Dundee United and them play at next season.

"It's a very difficult draw to bring players to the (Scottish) Championship...........(I) won't squander money..........I won't bring rubbish into the Club just to make a signing."

Well done Ray, I like your defiance.  Now can we be a bit more attacking?  Starting Saturday!

Re: Interesting interview from Ray

FKT It looks like he is referring to both Sammon and Ciftci not being prepared to drop down to our level. He is absolutely correct to state that no signing is better than a poor signing. RM sounds as frustrated as the fans but his number 1 job is player recruitment and he will sink or swim depending on it

Squander money (toshney) and won't  bring in rubbish, Murdoch who's murder, vdv who he says will cruise this league with his eyes closed can't get a game tope who has been punted  already and others like vds and Phil still to prove there good enough that's rubbish signings.

Bang-on.

I'm already reading things like 'In Ray i trust'.

Sorry if i don't jump on board wholeheartedly but the proclamations of 'In Mixu i trust' and even 'In Jackie i trust' are still too all fresh in the memory.

Re: Interesting interview from Ray

Nobody is asking him to bring in rubbish. Decent players would probably be a better option. Just saying.

Re: Interesting interview from Ray

Like most things there has to be middle ground. Of course one side  could point at some of his signings that have not worked and the other side could look at his successful signings. We have not won in 5- poor,  however a 79% win rate at Tannadice deserves a bit of respect  So he certainly has not done enough to be knighted Sir Ray however his strike rate currently compares favourably with recent managers.

Re: Interesting interview from Ray

there is players available as free agents that would come and improve our team in this league  imo. the likes of paul caddis who can cover three positions and we are fairly weak in two of them (rb and rw).

Didn't rate him back in 2008 but he would walk into our team now.

Toshney's not squadered money, you can't get a ground floor flat in Arklay St for £50k.
Murdoch is not murder, he's under the forum cosh just now cos it's his turn
VdV is ready to play & is good influence
Tope - Ray has admitted it & got rid, fair do's
VdS is proving ok I think
Phil is brand new & needs more time to prove he's ok, decent signs on Saturday

Re: Interesting interview from Ray

to be fair though he is 8 years older and played 200 plus games at a fairly decent level. honestly think he would do a turn.

Re: Interesting interview from Ray

i know his named has been said and laughed at and yes injury dramas over the years but his goal scoring is ok and if his injury worries us then pay as u play deal untill the summer, prove your fitness. (david templeton) a winger who even wen being slated at rangers still scored 20 plus goals in 60 games, which aint too bad.

Yep good shout, he has talent, just needs to get some fitness and a regular game.

Re: Interesting interview from Ray

Caddis would be a potentially good signing at our level, he got injured then Zola came in as manager, so he's out at Birmingham after he'd been a reliable fixture there for so long. He even got a Scotland cap less than a year ago.

Cannae think of anyone else though.

PS Caddis has the same agent as Goodwillie....

Re: Interesting interview from Ray

yeah Edinburgh city, was offered a deal he knocked it back, pay as u play deal would be ideal for us and him if he was ready to step back on the pitch, if he can get that form back he would prob play in ur team every week.

Re: Interesting interview from Ray

Seeing a bloke on P&B saying Templeton's training with us the now.

Noting that another ex-Sevco player, Ian Black, has had his contract mutually cancelled, if anyone wants to start another daft rumour.

Can't imagine why they wanted to get rid of him.

Female teacher I know (who is a Zombie), saw him in a hotel in Glasgow about 18 months ago and said after initally meeting him and her and her husband getting a selfie with him then noticed Black and his pal kept heading to the toilet together (if you know what I mean).  Later a more cocky/confident Black began propositioning the lassie to go upstairs for a threesome with him and his pal when her husband was at the loo and at the bar.

Too much commotion

No danger, her husband was there. For a zombie she's a nice enough girl.

Re: Interesting interview from Ray

Unless you're playing with an open chequebook almost every manager will have about a 50% success rate.

Bell, Andreu, Flood, Edge have been good, VDS once fit was fine for RB

Murdoch is coming back from injury, VDV is a player, but too similar to Andreu, Tope was pish, Toshney has been dissapointing, but he's had a broken nose, fucked knee and now a broken toe, at least by plaing through the pain barrier he's ommittmed, Cammy Smith was again a victim of Andreu.

Too early to judge Mikk.

Two of these are away already.

Even the great Fergie signed players who didn't work, Veron, Forlan, Poborski, he even managed to make a cunt of Ralphie ;)
