Oh well, back to square zero.
Motherwell devs are quite good mind, did they not win the league last season?
Did both trialists get 90 mins do you know?

Robertson was subbed off after an hour.

Awful apparently and nowhere near fit enough.

TEK, he's done nothing over here mate, even at school level he's hardly fucking played.  Its a genuine head scratcher, no fucking clue whats going on.  You can say theyre just taking a punt but fuck sake, there are some quality players at collegiate level over here who will be playing MLS or next level down in a couple years... this boy isnt even on the fucking radar.

I worry with stuff like this because it feels a bit desperate.  Do they have any sources over here scouting that level or are they just throwing darts at a fucking team sheet?

I think David Robertson and Ray McKinnon played at Montrose iirc.

Possibly the former has contacted the latter with a sales pitch.

Who knows mate.Strange one indeed.

The German goalie from the US i mentioned has been tipped of to Utd from a totally different source i should add.

McKinnon is still good mates with Stephen glass who coaches in North Carolina. He likely sounded him out.
Most decent players in America don't go into the collegiate system, they would be far too old to start a career after graduation. I played against some of them when I was in my late 30's and if they were playing on the same field as me at that point, there is no way united should be looking at them. It would be a massive long shot.

Re: Development League 2016/2017 Season

MLS "drafts" them out of college.  There are a few players in MLS I would like to see in a UTD shit (most of them not American admittedly).

I think the club would be wise to scout collegiate level over here, particularly those that get on scholarships from Africa/South America but as you say... even then its a long shot.

Re: Development League 2016/2017 Season

Appere the scorer on the Fishul?
Robson, Col Donaldson, Telfer started.
Seems they had chances to win.
Rare opportunity to see them a week tomorrow v Falkirk at Tannadice 6pm.

Re: Development League 2016/2017 Season

My mates yound lad plays for Dundee under 11's.

Said that at that age and the one above United are absolutely miles ahead of them, they pumped Dundee at the Weekend.

Said to the best of knowledge 'The Exodus' of players from United to Dundee is mostly kids that weren't going to make the grade or have been released.

Don't shoot the messenger, just him giving his view on it.

The U/11 derby score was 12-2 for United and the wee Funster in their goal played a blinder!

Was at game last night, Utd unlucky to lose. Donaldson was just his usual self, Telfer played well in centre and Robson played really well at Centre Back!!

Good to hear that about Robson, I saw the same thing last dev game I was at. He was a very able left-sided central defender with great aerial ability you don't see when he's left back. Hope he plays there next Tuesday.

A rare game at Tannadice tomorrow night at 6pm (v Falkirk).

Wonder if David Templeton will feature as a trialist.

When you don't get in till half 5 from work and don't have a car it's abit harder than walking down Arklay Street to Tannadice.

Utd played very well tonight against Rangers and should have taken at least a point from the game. First penalty looked soft and second was a yard outside the box when Robson made the challenge. No failures in Utd team all played very well with Robson looking solid and composed at left centre back. Think trialist was the boy Cole but not sure.

How did Ivan Cole fare mate?
