Makes you wonder why the fuk we signed Mickleson??
Mikkelson was seen in the summer and we tried for him then.
When he became affordable he trialed again and this time we got him.
He'll not be costing much and is worth the educated punt.
But if we have 2 big burly strikers and nobody to run off of them......?

Oh, now we are getting somewhere. He'll not be costing much.

if they are willing to let murray leave for a fee in January it better be to fund a better player otherwise it would look to be another case of january self harm by thompson

The money Murray has been offered to play in Moldova would suggest it must be there he is off too.
Not the World's best centre forward by any means but he will (and has) score/d goals in this division.
Even if we do sign someone else tomorrow we are back to just having 2 forwards at the club and are taking a punt on his replacement being able to score goals immediately.
Forgive me if i don't feel too optimistic on that score after witnessing Bilate,Bodul,Siname-Pongol,Ristu-Riski and various other players with supposedly great cv's pass through our door in recent history.
Fucked off with this if I'm honest.
But no surprise if true.

And incidentally if it's Connor Sammon that we are signing that leaves us with 2 of the same type of forwards.
We are going to make ourselves even slower in attack unless we plan on signing 2 pacy wingers from somewhere.

had it confirmed by the man himself through a mutual friend , he is off to moldova , he has 4 months left on £800 a week but will jump up to 6k a week

Cannae blame Murray at those wages if corrrect. But will reserve judgement til we know the actual fee.

Not that exciting but defo from a higher standard.
If Simon does go I'll be sorry cos I was looking forward to seeing his career develop with United.
I think we'll miss Murray. He's better than a lot of people think and could have done better for us had we played to his strengths. I just hope there's a good fee involved or replacement lined up (preferrably both) if we are letting him go at this stage of our promotion push

I think he's meaning instead of earning 800 a week for next 4 months he's away to start earning 6 grand a week. Good luck to the laddie

We'll miss his energy without question. He puts opposition players under pressure which leads to them making mistakes. On the flip side, he's not particularly good on the ball (though his goal against QotS suggests he may have been improving).
I don't doubt any replacement will be as good, if not better a footballer, but it's doubtful we'd have someone to match his work ethic.

Sammon's probably a better all-round footballer. I think that's a fair comment based upon his career.
Not necessarily a better replacement though.
Jon Daly in his prime wouldn't be a better replacement either considering we've got no other forward players beyond Murray who actually run at people.

Stick to football manager ffs. He's scored 1 in 17 games for hearts. We need a boy to put ball in the net and as soon and as many as possible

We're not going to get anyone putting the ball into the net without service.

Think the service sh!t3 is getting boring now, big Thomas had mare than enough service yesterday and Murray had a chance when he come on both no clinical enough.
I don't actually think Murray would be that big of a loss given we bring in another forward.
Opinions though, got to love it

Murray scored 11? This season without service.

That's a fair point. What I should have said was that a player like Sammon probably wouldn't score without better quality service because he doesn't move too much.
I think we're arguing a little bit for the sake of having an argument anyway. Murray I think has been effective in some games. I just don't think he's a particularly talented footballer technically, and I'm certainly not alone in that. He sclaffs at stuff, his close control is often appalling and if he's given time, he usually misses. Most of his goals have been reaction efforts; one hit finishes in the box.
I'd expect anyone we bring in to be a better footballer in terms of control and composure, but whether they might be as effective is a different matter.
If you don't think that's an accurate assessment then that's up to you.

Since Simon Murray showed up I wasn't sure where his progress would end or peak. The main reason I like him is effort. It's fuckin refreshing to see. Especially after having talent that didn't knock their cunts in and got us in this fkn mess.
Murray seems a bit glaikit but likable and which doesn't matter really but I hoped he'd make plenty swallow their words.
Don't think it will be hard to replace him though. Any main striker in a team going for promotion should be on around the same number of goals.
I won't be surprised if we bring in 3 attacking players and won't be surprised if we don't.
Hope we change tactics and get more in the box to more strikers and aim for picking up 2nd balls in the box over playing our way through teams.
Sevco and Hibs wasted a lot of time trying to keep their fans happy with a style of football that doesn't get results in this league.
I'll be interested to see if our tactics change with new players in.

What do you want from a striker? Goals and effort? That's why other teams want him - but utd fans with their misty eyed nostalgia harp on about the Sturrocks, Milnes and Dodds. Clearly he's not in their league but who is that'll come to Utd? How much are Murray's goals worth ? He probably has another 6 in him before the end of the season is that worth £50k? Probably. Or we sell him now and replace him with some rusty chap living off of his past reputation who will take 3 or 4 games to get match fit. For me that's a no brainer !
