Dunfermline v dundee utd

Well here goes our next match back to league duty.

I hope to fuck we are shown more fight than what was shown last week and weeks previous and we take the 3 points as it is badly needed.
Defence seems to have lost alot of the confidence that played a massive part in getting us in the position we where in at xmas so that needs to return and quick.

As for line up does he go with the same back 4 as last week? Does he shake up the midfield and front line?
Imo Robson and vds had a mare laat week but so have dixon and toshney in recent weeks.

Id go with
Bell
Robson
Edge
Durnan
Vds
Flood
Telfer
Tope
Spittal
Andreu
Murray

Its a tough one for ray to pick this weekend and doesnt look like we will have any new boys in for sat.
Possibly toshney if fit will go in for telfer?

Cmon Utd

That's what I'd play as well.  Fraser's shocking effort at their 6th goal (and Hibs 3rd) means he should be getting left out.

Too much commotion

Re: Dunfermline v dundee utd

Judging by Bell last week I'd be more worried about them getting free kicks! He's allowed one bad game to be fair, he's been terrific otherwise.

Re: Dunfermline v dundee utd

As long as Murdoch and VDV don't start I don't really care who else plays

True,  but conceding 3 penalties and saving them in such a short time isn't good for the auld ticker

Re: Dunfermline v dundee utd

I'd go for the same team as Bowers and Rodge.

We've beaten Dunfermline 4 times this season. We will need to be at our best tomorrow to make it 5.

No passengers tomorrow and we also must see more from those off the bench (VDV,Mikkelson etc).

                             Bell
VDS         Durnan            Edge          Robson
                            Flood
            VDV         Andreu    Brad Smith
                    Murray   Mikkelsen

Slight alteration to the formation for me.
We dont have any decent wingers. Shouldn't use boys as wingers when they aren't. I dont like us playing Andreu out there. Such a waste. He needs to be in the middle.
I'd pick boys who have a bit of vision and a bit of class to try and get Murray in behind and get the Dunfermline back 4 turning. VDV & Andreu can provide this. Fraser can too but he needs a boot up the hoop so i'd bench him.
I quite like what i've seen of young brad smith aswell, Might be time to give him his shot. The side can use the energy & enthusiam you get when you throw a kid in. He's a cracking wee player too. Your tope's etc haven't been at it and so, dont deserve to prevent a kid who's probably choking to play his chance.
Mikkelsen in there to mix it up and have the option of going route 1 if need be.

Re: Dunfermline v dundee utd

Bell
VDS,Durnan,Edge, Robson
Toshney
Flood, Faser/Andreu
Obadeyi, Mikkelson, Murray

Saw Dunfremline beat Alloa last week and they looked decent - genuine improvement on the 4 times I've seen them against us. Think we need 1 genuine defensive midfielder so Tosh gets the nod in what I think is his proper position. He should try and keep things simple - get the challenges in but give away no free kicks. As we have proved over the last 10/11 games that we are incapable of passing our way through the middle, lets abandon this stupid unsuccessful tactic and get the ball out wide and crossed into the box as often as possible and get players in the box as well. Murray and Obadeyi have many weaknesses but they have strengths too so for once lets play to them. Forget the pointless (and utterly boring) passing and do more attacking. Who knows their  keeper and defenders might have the off day our lot had last week, but we'll never know unless we test them.

Re: Dunfermline v dundee utd

Dissapointing to drop more points.

Looks like we are playing for 2nd now.

Cammy Bell getting injured further compounds the disappointment.

Re: Dunfermline v dundee utd

Thought performamce was much better than has been the past few games.
Fraser had best game in a while done well
Zwick done what was asked of him when he came on.
Thought should have brought tope on to give us something else out wide but never.
Mikkelson didnt seem fit and was the right sub to make.
Dixon was better today.

Think overall we should have won good few chances which should have been buried.

Over 1100 arabs fantastic turnout again.

I was in the home end today (with a family member who's a Par) and got a good look at Mikkelson in the first half.He looked decent - he put himself about physically closing down defenders, caused them problems with his arial presence, had one nice turn to create space for one effort which went straight to the keeper. He was also the focal point for our attacks with Spittal, Dixon VDS and Fraser all looking to find him with their crosses. Not surprised that he didn't last the 90 but what was there was encouraging for me and I've been as big a critic as anyone over the last 10/11 games given the lack of attacking football. Thought when he went off we lost a good chunk of our attacking edge. 2 points dropped but a performance in parts which suggest that we might be competitive in the play offs. No failures this time and a welcome return to form for MoM Willo Flood

Couldn't make match so fkn delighted to read that bud.

Always believe that wether yer  blessed with skill or not there is no reason not to have that Bowers.

Radio Scotland commentator was going nuts about Fraser's reverse Cruyff turn with a nutmeg then brought down. Was he getting in about the tackles too?
