I dont believe them either they are all lying scum imo..however information like that is better posted on here or elsewhere rather than kept quiet id say.
If we are being told that info from said persons then I think it's only right that the fed ask questions about the future of the club.

Affshore, I sometimes wonder if you post just to get a reaction: think you do.
Nobody is happy, but as I've asked elsewhere, what do YOU suggest the fans do? Simple enough question, but nobody appears to have an answer.

Too many people think in absolute terms. "Us and them," "black and white." There are shades of grey in all of this and differing levels of discontent. Personally, I want ST to go but want to see a viable alternative in his place. I am not going to spend my whole time on a forum having a go at anyone who disagrees with me. I just want to go to the game, have a few pints and see us win and ideally, play some good football. Life goes on though if that doesn't happen.
I expected us to lose on Saturday so it never put me that up nor down because a) they play in a higher league than us b) they'd signed a few decent players in the window and clearly had got a boost and, c) we're low on confidence and not playing well. The manner of it was very poor granted but, our lack of cutting edge and depth on the bench at 4-2 down was what cost us any chance of getting back into the game. When Spittal is your best option on the bench you really need to get reinforcements in. I do feel for the boys who trailed up there though but must ask if anyone really expected us to go up there and get a result? A month ago I would've said yes, but we've tailed off massively since then.
I can't be arsed with meltdowns every week tbh. I will be annoyed if we fail to sign a winger this week having seen Thomas sign for QotS on loan, Aird sign for Falkirk and O'Brien sign for Ross County all of whom are wingers and for me, would've done a good job for us. Ray keeps trotting out the excuse that this is a bad window to get players in. Either he doesn't rate these guys mentioned above, he's got poor contacts, he's looking in the wrong places (i.e. abroad), he's too picky in wanting to get the 'right man' or he's not being backed from above. I think it's a bit of all of the above but Ray and ST will be to blame.

Mckinnon got a budget in summer and overspent on it. maybe the board either have no money or they don't trust the manager. Possibly that's why spence and Stewart said at fed meeting it would be one out then one in.

True and I think that the past few weeks have meant the board are hedging their bets. I don't doubt that we are making offers for players but suspect the wages we are offering aren't great and players are getting better offers elsewhere.

See when i left the house sat morning i didnt expect a win possibly a draw.

That, plus just because we want a player it doesn't mean we'll get him. I imagine we made bids for both Ciftci and GMS but if either Celtic or the player doesn't want to come, what can Utd do?
The other thing to be mindful of is that while people on social media come out and say 'Well if we weren't going to sign these guys we shouldn't have brought it up in the media", we're now in a situation - as I'm sure everyone knows - where the newspapers get their news from guys offering inside gossip on forums. GMS, Bikey and now Robertson have been reported as 'exclusives' in the Sun and other rags days after it's been discussed here.

Quality post LaO. I went on Saturday with only hope of pulling off a shock, but with the expectation of having a quality day out with some great United supporting pals (which I had with the exception of between 3pm and 5pm and I sat it out until the 6th went in)!!!
B&T, every manager would overspend if given half a chance. RM has been backed (albeit with a Championship budget) just as Sackie and Mixup were backed, so player recruitment is down to RM. He's no different to any other Manager, in that you get some right, you get some wrong. I'm more frustrated by our tactics if I'm honest.
I know for a fact that you have a valid point about events of 2 years ago, but that's where the Fed went "wrong" recently in my eyes (as a non Fed, non ArabTrust, fully paid up, head in the sand DUSC Member). What's done is done. We are where we are and looking back is not going to do us any favours. There were some decent points to be fair in some of the questions, but they were lost in the entire ramble of it and its sinister undertones; and then there was the timing aspect of it??? Even if submitted in mid December, we were still unbeaten then, so the timing and tone was all wrong (IMO) as it was too confrontational!!!
I'd wager that RM's remit this season was to contest the final play off game. And presently we are still on course to do that. But the next week will determine whether we want to merely contest it; or look to actually win it............over to you Mr Thompson!!!

The wording of it I agree was wrong, the timing I'll disagree with. The meeting was due to take place last Thursday. We had to let our members know what was or wasn't happening.
What's done is done yeah, all fine, but we're worried about our future. That's our concern. When you get told things from people who are paid by the club then I think we've a right to question these things. Thompson could have told us some answers to some of the questions and it may or may not have allayed any fears but it would have been better to meet than shove us out the way.
Offline
I can understand where you are coming from with that. That was well explained blackandtangerine.
It must be frustrating trying to get some answers with nothing coming back.
I can't speak for others, but not being in the loop of things with the Fed, the Trust or anything else officially related to the club, I can't comment on much. So excuse if my ignorance looks like I am burying me head in the sand. It's really not. I really can't say if I am pro or anti-Thompson, but I do want him to go if he finds a suitable and stable buyer, and the sooner the better, for both parties I think.

Fair enough re the timing B&T, I accept that. Hopefully the Fed etc will see then that they maybe need to adopt a softer and smarter approach. We are all hurting though and the Fed etc do not have exclusive rights to be hurting more than the rest of us that follow United.

One thing people need to remember regarding the questions put to the club from the fed.
None of the questions came from a fed committee member. Each question was from paid up member clubs members who all got asked for questions they would like put to the club.

They wanted the questions in for a certain date in december which they got sent to club on time.
Fed asked if follow up questions would be allowed to the answers on the night. That is when they pulled the plug.

Some of the questions were more confrontational than easily answered or not what they'd want.
Understand you want to/need to represent the fans who pay FED membership and their wages to follow the team but how you get ST to agree a meeting has to be more diplomatic, like it or lump it.
We all want answers and all are not on one side or the other, especially on this forum bud.
Totally get how frustrating it is when you fkn know the score and there is a delay in folk believing you but it's important that you get to a point of being able to ask questions for us all.
If the fans Unite to tackle those who run the club it will be better done tactfully without assuming any opposite opinion comes from loving ST.
How do we achieve that?

Just to clarify Thompson agreed to the meeting. After the questions were in there was still no inkling of him cancelling it. It was when we asked if we could answer follow up questions to the answers we were going to be given that the meeting was cancelled.

You'd need to ask him that. personally think he was advised not too.
Remember tho he's pulled out of meetings before. If things aren't going well he hides. If going well he's everywhere.

I dont deal with him day in day out - so difficult to agree or disagree with that....tbh I think, we as a support, had a lot of access to the club - more than most other clubs.
It's bitten him on the rear and he's become a chairman who wants nothing to do with publicity. If it was you at your work - a punter wanted a meeting to discuss your performance. There was a good chance it would turn into a personal attack, what do you do?
It's just my opinion but if he feels like he is going to get abused, he's not going to do it. Somebody at the fed must be able to reword the questions, so the meaning of your membership is projected but without seeming like an outright attack on the club. Further more - don't ask for supplementary questions which he won't be able to prepare for. Minute the meeting and submit further questions - again written in a diplomatic way.
Feck it - if nobody in the fed feels they have the ability to do this, send them to me and I'll rewrite them in a bid to improve the situation
