Today's Game

Couldn't make the game today so can't comment directly on the game  but think a few keyboard football managers might've got their eyes opened today, Dixon is past it, Toshney never a right back, Flood and Murdoch can't play together sthey said, Robson, Frank and Telfer start and we lose 6 goals WTF, from not conceding in 6 games albeit not playing well to conceding 12 in 3 games is brutal. First time since 2009 we've not reached the SC Q/F even allowing for us being pish last season we won up there with 10 men, looking round a few message boards everyone wants to blame Steven Thomson, yes his decision to sell the Tim 2 is the catalyst for a lot that has gone wrong but we are now 3 managers on from that debacle so please give it a break as every manager has been backed by the Chairman and has had money to spend,  I've got plenty of faith in Ray but the last few weeks have dented that as I'm not sure even he knows what his best team/formation is, at Brechin/Raith he always played 4-4-2 and got his rewards from that, with us he's changing formations and playing players out of position which isnt working, he should adopt a system and pick players that can play it rather than bring in players and try to fit them onto a system that doesnt suit them, the next few weeks are massive for us we must get back to not conceding at the back and get the winning mentality back, KTF

Re: Today's Game

I'm certainly not a Thompson apologist but that's why I left the mad board got a bit boring hearing it was all his fault. When we were 12 unbeaten no mention of Thompson, now not won in 3 all his fault.......

As I mentioned earlier a lot of this stemmed from his decision in the January 15 transfer window but it gets boring after a while. Sorry if that goes against your agenda Blackandtangerine, we've now had 3 managers all backed financially from the club to arrest the decline since the selling of GMS and Armstrong but so far things have got worse, no one is looking to invest in us or put money in so what exactly is it that you propose?

Re: Today's Game

I think that's a decent assessment WEA (and welcome to the board if that's yer 4th post).  I arrived in Dingwall at 11am and tweeted the game was gonna be in doubt.  My question would be did Clancy go to the back row of the stand ahent the goals, coz as a paying customer I was cheated yesterday.  I have just watched Arabzone to confirm what I saw live (away end only) and the Manager's interview.  Goal 1 a wonderstrike, but our players have to take on pitch responsibility as zero awareness of the scorer making a run and about 6 United players sold a dummy run!  I looked straight down the free kick but Bell had to do better I'm afraid.  RM very honest post match I thought.  Events of the next week or so are critical.

Re: Today's Game

Murdoch was going nuts at tope after the first goal.

That was a disgrace i could barely see past the half way line for most of the match waste of 20quid

You can only appoint one of the people who apply. Every single one of the last three appointments, at the time of the appointment I've thought to myself "fair enough - I think they can do a decent job and they're preferable to most of the names I've heard mentioned".
If Thomson had answered the list of questions from the Fed, I suspect we would have lost 6-2 today.
It was a mistake to sell Armstrong to Celtc. GMS was going regardless. None of that can be undone. What exactly is it that folk want Thomson to do, and can they explain to me why he hasn't done it already, if it's going to improve things so significantly?
FWIW, I'm not one of the folk who think that asking him to dip into his pocket again and again is a reasonable solution. I happen to agree that the business model needs to be sustainable (but it needs to be accompanied by a team that delivers entertaining football and is competitive).

He doesn't dip into his pocket EVER, he only takes money OUT.

The questions being asked by the members of the Fed were nothing to do with 1 game v Ross County but the long term future of the Club. I've sat in meeting with Directors and consultants and heard them saying they have spoke to administrators already and also' it won't be admin it will be liquidation'.  Then follow it up with 'we need investment to get us to the end of the season' Some fans choose to turn a blind eye to stuff like that, thankfully we have some that don't, in my opinion.

I remember that one from the club's ass director Mr Stewart.  It won't be admin but liquidation.  Also remember the one where he said it would have cost us 200k just to speak to John hughes.  Also remember where the consultant basically said the club's fucked but hey ho we're the bad guys.

Re: Today's Game

If we are that bad and going to bypass administration and go straight into liquidation then why not just spend more and more we don't have as we'll never pay back anyway?

Oh That's right, it's all bollocks.

Bowers i have edited your post.

I have already requested over the weekend that posters refrain from getting personal with each other.

Please take heed of this.

I have had messages from people previously saying this type of behaviour puts them off posting.

I think i have been pretty even-handed in never issuing a ban on here but i will be left with no options left to me if people don't listen to this plea.

That's aimed at everyone btw.

That may well be the case, I do not trust anyone on a board who doesn't have an interest in investing in the company in which he is a board member of so forgive me for taking said rumour with a large pinch of salt.

Re: Today's Game

Tek's right.

Some of the posts since after the game yesterday has been out of order, I know people are hurting.

If you want to vent, fight or slag off each other there is plenty of other places and forums to do that. Tek set this forum up to be an 'alternative' to other forums, to have it a more laid back place where you can still have discussions and disagreements, but in a more civilised manner. Not to see it getting turned into a Mini Mad.

We are all grown ups here, we should be able to talk to each other without acting like a bunch of school bairns.

I've said it before, Tek has set up this forum, and he can only do so much to contribute and regulate. Forums like this will only be as good or as bad as the posters on it.

It shouldn't be all sunshine and rainbows, life isn't like that, but we should at least be civil to each other.

Re: Today's Game

Tek i Am big enough and ugly enough to not take offence at Bowers post. All united fans were angry after yestrday losing 6 goals is never acceptable. When was the last time we lost 6 to a non old firm team? I will continue to pass my version of events on all things united.
A bit of research to answer my own question 1971  6-4 loss our neighbours

good man and i appreciate that mate.

But as i said i have been getting PM's previously from members (and again recently) saying this type of behaviour is or has put them off posting/reading the board.

I'm not talking about replying 'bollocks' or something to someone's post.

But saying things like fanny, coward and bell-end is not on and i wouldn't like being spoken to like that.I don't think anyone on here would.

Just think before you type Gents. That's all i ask.

Last i will say on it (hopefully).

It was definitely said by an associate director and a consultant of the club. I'll leave you to work out who they might be.

It may be bollocks. They may have just said it for a laugh or as scaremongering (I've no idea why), but I can assure you they said it. And it wasn't an off the record aside. They were speaking as representatives of the club.
