Case in point
Why? Explain yer " case in point"? smedDUm is wrong in his assumption.

There's a saying that goes - "If yi dinna ask, u dinna get"
Needs to be changed "Even if you do ask, u dinna get"
Pathetic stance fae the Board as per.

Eh?
The club cancelled the meeting with the Fed.
The club offered a Q&A as part of the season ticket package and has not come up with the goods.
So who is alienating who?

Thompson also said he'd have a Q and A with us last may but pulled out that as well.

Far from it. We've made mistakes. everyone makes mistakes. It's how you rectify them though.

Was it a condition of submitting the questions to the Club, that they would only be answered at the meeting that was cancelled.

This makes a lot of sense.....for ST as well as the fed.

Having looked over the questions I don't blame the ST for calling of the meeting. There are no answers he could give that would placate his interrogators.

He could tell us the truth. Listen, if we're in the shite would it not be better to say what's wrong and together we can try and fix it rather than say nowt until it's too late.
No matter how you and others sugar coat it there's others who are genuinely worried about the future of our club
I think the point a few are trying to make is that it's being approached in the wrong manner.
Like it or not ST is in the position of power here and he will always call the shots regarding content and timings of meetings. A Fed charm offensive wouldn't go amiss.
All my personal opinion of course, I appreciate there is fault with the DUFC(ompany) management too.

I'm not attempting to sugar coat anything. If he came out and said we are not in the shite you would not believe him. If we are struggling for finance it would be a dereliction of his duty as chairman to come out and say this as any future revenue streams, investors loans etc would be severely jeopardised. So the fact he has cancelled wont spoil my enjoyment of tomorrows match.

No, I would believe him.
He's already stated he's seeking investment.
It'll not spoil mines either.
Hope the snow stays off and we get 3 points.

Even though your far away CA i think youve got the gist of the overly aggresive non concillitary tone in the questions.

That's because he promises the world when season tickets and half season tickets are going on sale and then gives nothing once that sales period is over. I don't really understand how people can't see that. Or maybe it's just coincidence.
Whatever anyone thinks about the questions there's no need to cancel the meeting, if he can't answer a particular question then just say that and explain briefly why.
Just my opinion as a non fed member, non trust member and as of this season non season ticket holder (not because of relegation but because the club continually treat fans like idiots imo and that should have seen more people willing to take a stand last summer, but the false promises conned too many, again just my opinion) i don't see what can possibly be gained by keeping promising to customers , then not delivering. If this was any other business acting this way none of us would buy from it.

Hard to argue with that but I'd need reminding of what he actually promised to form a real opinion.

Just on the two points bolded, the only stand we could have taken would be to stop buying season tickets. Would we have been in the footballing situation we are now if fans had done this? Which relates to the second: we buy because we are fans.
It appears no-one wants to buy the club from ST, so we're stuck with that for now.
And a message to the Fed: on the website you state of Larbert Arabs "This Club no longer exists." But it still does, just not as a part of the Fed.

I don't mean breaking promises on meetings or not selling off players to cup final opponents, after that.

Pat, possibly not, but the problem is bigger than immediate on field success IMO. And yes we buy because we are fans, but we shouldn't be taken for granted by the club which is what's happening IMP.
There was a point when ST did good things running the club, But for whatever reason he's dead set on alienating a large section of fans who he could at least start to try and build bridges with by fulfilling this meeting. Personally wouldn't expect him to answer everything, but explain why and move on.
There's plenty club business gets discussed in the boozer, why not discuss some of it with those that buy because they are fans?

I agree with you, TheShed. But ST doesn't appear to know how to improve his relationship with the support, just like the majority of football club owners.

fans bailing the club out again. what happens next season we are in this pissy division again

Jim Spence has left his consultancy role.
Seems like the bridge of communication that was promised has been well and truly burnt down.
Offline
Does he know what needs to be done to improve the relationship with fans? I suspect yes
Does he care about improving the relationship with fans? I suspect no, because he seems to believe it's just the Fed boys and everyone else loves him.
As for Jim Spence, he arrived full of promises, imo done nothing positive that couldn't have been done anyway, didn't fulfill all the talk, battle bus anyone, let's be honest here there was never going to be a battle bus and now he's away. Whole thing was a waste of time and money.
All just my opinion on it.
1 thing that may come from Spence leaving is some of those who feel he was helping may start to believe it was all just a failed PR/spin exercise, which is what I've always thought it was.
The bridge of communication only got a little way over the water before being burned down is how I see it.
