Difficult one IMO.

Nothing difficult about it for me Baldy.
The guy is a convicted rapist.
I would be disgusted if my club had him re-employed.

Don't really have an opinion on this as such. Think it's between him and his employer. Problems might start surfacing with female staff and their thoughts/feelings about it. eg. working on their own &c. Difficult one as I say.

Difficult, right enough, up there with some ultimate cunts rounds.
He's a convicted rapist
but
he's served his time
so
he should be able to continue his career with a suitably compatible club
like
Funs or Huns.

I think it is difficult, if we take for granted that football is his career and not a privilege (sp) then its hard to say that any criminal who has served his time is not allowed to return to his trade.
Because its football it makes it different, I guess if he was a teacher for arguments sake he would be struck off, same with a paramedic or social worker.
If he was an IT support worker, or a sparky or a mortgage advisor I assume he would have to disclose his conviction but would be free to gain employment if an employer makes him an offer.

Footballers are supposed to be role models to youngsters.
How could you possibly explain to your son or daughter why their favourite player was in jail?

Gordon Strachan was right, there is no morals in football.

Honestly mate, I have never bought that, fuck having 90% of modern day footballers as a role model for my kids, they are so removed from reality and as Sieb suggested, devoid of morals.
My point was that if an employer who happens to be a football club wants to employe him then so be it. I hope its not my club but I don't think the boy should be banned from his trade.

I think it would give out an appalling message if we as a club ever considered employing a sex offender mate, good player or not.

Great post by Andy, especially the "hope it's not my club" bit, and I know the WF ethos will ensure none of us endure the shame of any appalling message.

He's done his time, you could argue he's been punished enough.

He's served his time,i'm not disputing that.
To welcome the guy back into the game with open arms though??
Being a top footballer is a luxury lifestyle,a priviledged position.
He should be 'persona non-grata' in footballing circles now, imo.
Strachan was right. There is no morals left in football.

Always be a club willing to use damaged goods at the right price.
Otherwise Joey Barton would've been on the bru for years.

Not in my name.
I'm all for rehabilitation BUT he apparently got paid whilst in jail. There is also a high profile case to clear him.
Doesn't sound to rehabilitated to me.
End of dayhe's a convicted rapist.
