Difficult what to think if a bid came in: Southampton seem to have a wide scouting network, having recently taken Kieran Freeman from us.
A decent bid might be irresistible, if funds become available to strengthen other areas, yet Robson looks a very good prospect turning 19. He seems to be taller than when he started out with us, and decent in the air, although he struggled last Friday for periods of the match.
Hopefully we can avoid having to make a decision on him in January.

Need to keep him for the rest of this season anyway, he's a great prospect and I thought he was harshly done by when he was dropped when Dixon came back from his last injury.

would be crazy to let him go to soon, especially this season we have got to show ambition from the board this year to give us a fighting chance of promotion if we were to sell I genuinely can't see the board surviving another fire sale at tannadice in january
First Fraser, now Robson, I think the tabloids must be short of news space & I wouldn't be too concerned there will be any departures. Both are very exciting prospects and it's great we've got them but both have a long way to go. Instance Robson on Friday. Pat suggests he struggled during periods of the game on Friday, maybe he did & why not, it was a high-octane game. But he's still a laddie but can you imagine how quickly he's learning from a game like Friday? Then Fraser - he's currently maybe about 60% the player he's going to be. If he doesn't train on much from here he's still going to have a good career. If he reaches 100% of his potential he's going to be a wealthy young man (what it's all about now sorry).

He's miles better than Dixon imo.
Would need to be a 7 figure bid before a phone call should even be entertained.

As Tek said it would have to be seven figures to even contemplate selling, any sales in the past never saw players coming in any more than usual and I don't expect that to change.
I wouldn't rule out selling with then them loaning him back until the end of the season being in the acknowledgement of Thompson's mind.

Intersting point on Sportsound the other day. Would Armstrong be the player he is now if he hadn't played the 100+ games for United? He'd never have had that much time on the pitch at Celtic. Useful thought for youngsters.

I find the point on Armstrong very interesting and very valid in Fraser's case. For me there is no doubt he will be sold at some point but I think January would be to soon for him, as stated above he's only about 60% the player he can be, with another season he can be better than Armstrong IMO. I think technically there isn't anyone better in our squad maybe the league and within another year he will continue to get stronger and more experienced. Hopefully the young lad stays around.

only way these deals should ever go through would be if we negotiated loan back through end of the season

Wee word for our young Left Back.
Since he came in against Qots for the injured Dixon we've kept 5 clean sheets on the spin [5 and a half if you count the 2nd half of that match].
Our best run of defensive form since January 1990 apparently.
