Dundee utd v hibs

Massive game friday for both teams

Set to be a huge crowd with hibs now selling tickets for the shed after selling out the fairplay stand and our tickets are being snapped up.
Think be over 11k at the game which will be very good.

A flag display will be in east stand.

2-1 utd with goals from wullie and andreu

Re: Dundee utd v hibs

Just hoping it's not the usual let down when we get a big crowd.

Just bought tickets for ET lower so there are still some available in there.  Should be a cracking atmosphere.

Massively important we don't lose, 3 points would be a huge boost and we are definitely capable of getting them, could go either way but think it'll be 2-2.

Re: Dundee utd v hibs

Haven't been to any recent games but have heard from others that Spittal and Telfer have been 'indifferent'.Is that fair, those who have seen them of late?I did see Spittal against Dunfermline in the Irn Bru and thought he was 'ok',but just 'ok'.

Hard to know our best 11 tbh or who Mckinnon will go with but my team would be.

Bell

VDS
Durnan
Edjenguele
Robson

Murdoch
Flood

Fraser
Andreu
Obadeyi

Murray

Subs -

Zwick
Dillon
Toshney
Telfer
Van Der Velden
Cammy Smith
Spittal

I'd go with that team Tek but would swap Murdoch for Telfer.  I think Murdoch is the better player but he's been out for a while and won't be quite up to speed yet.

Cannot afford two passengers in Murray and Tope, Murray was the worst tangerine player by a country mile at Morton and its definitely time to play Cammy Smith.
You have to be fair to the squad and those two have had more than enough chances to shine, Murray only has 4 league goals the same amount as our CH duo have chipped in with.

No danger Murdoch either he's not played in months and this isn't a game to throw a player who's been out for that long in to.

Re: Dundee utd v hibs

I'd agree with AP: I'd have VdV and Cammy Smith in for Tope and Murray.

And Telfer too should start.

Totally agree with this.

Expecting Telfer to start, but not the other 2 tho.

Re: Dundee utd v hibs

I quite like VDV,technically he is excellent (at our level).

Though my worry is he slows our play down quite a bit.

Cammy Smith i have to confess other than that Partick rout early doors i am failing to see what he really offers if I'm honest (albeit i certainly haven't seen him as much as some of you lads).

Maybe that's unfair on the latter but just my opinion.

Hibs are one side who will come to Tannadice and NOT sit in.Neil Lennon say what you want about him is a winner who will set his side out accordingly.

This means pace could be vital as we will get opportunities on the counter.Though the gamble is do you exploit this from the off or wait till they tire and the game opens up a bit?

Re: Dundee utd v hibs

our first 11 almost picks itself, for me there are only 3 positions to be filled.. a partner for willo to be decided  (Murdoch IMO or telfer) a left winger to compensate our 2 best players in Fraser and Andrue! And of course the much talked about striker, a real out&out #9

Ps RM meeting ST next week ahead of January and Fraser 'Not for Sale' heard that before. What we thinking will be the outcome of that meeting???

Re: Dundee utd v hibs

I'll wager Toshney starts somewhere. Probably ahead of Telfer in cm but possibly at rb instead of VDS.

Re: Dundee utd v hibs

No feckin danger Toshney should replace VDS, , he's been a rock lately as have the whole back four to be fair.

Changing things to accommodate a favourite will only hurt us

I never said I was happy about it.

But I bet it happens. He's McKinnon's man.

Re: Dundee utd v hibs

VDS did go off injured against morton although nothing has been mentioned about it. I would put Toshney in for Telfer as he would be more suited against Bartley.

Re: Dundee utd v hibs

We've averaged 55% possession at home over last 7 games. Hibs not used to that if we can do something similar. We can play on the break better if the opposite happens.

I've mair confidence in RMcK than treacle teeth in being tactically savvy and having player belief.

Both sets of fans will be crucial in the outcome. They will bring more than the usual to an away game & us the same for a home game.

We have to go with a determination to be vocal throught.

Friday night & beemed to millions means future image to incoming January players we try to attract is an un thought of factor.
I'd encourage every Utd fan going to have an extra double afore they leave the pub.

Anyone who's ever stood and sung needs to stand and sing at every opportunity.

Chance to go level is so much the opposite to the start of a slide and playoffs are a massive gamble.

This is bigger than the Europa League games we backed the team well at.

Phobia beemed to millions  I think your slighty overestimating BTs viewing figures there.

Re: Dundee utd v hibs

Toshney for Telfer please, need a bit of braun v fizzical Hibs.
And Obladee, obladah, Tope goes on, yeah...
Obadeyi to come good. If not, wheech him off at half-time but I think it could be his sort of game.

Re: Dundee utd v hibs

Loving your rallying cry Phobia.  We have done really well to get ourselves to where we currently are with all the new players and all the injuries and without ever hitting anything like top form.  I'm really looking forward to an electric atmosphere and hopefully drawing level with the HIVees.  But regardless of what happens tomorrow, the dealings of the January transfer window will determine how this season will unfold I reckon.

Re: Dundee utd v hibs

FKT, by the end of the transfer window we'll have played around two-thirds of our league fixtures, which might have had a telling effect on where we finish. To be fair, there are only three league games scheduled for January, but it'd be good to think Ray has plans for the start of that month, rather than the end.

To the game tonight: we've not set the heather on fire while we have secured good results in the last eight league games, hoping tonight for a big team performance. But 'hoping' rather than 'expecting'.

I wouldn't be too upset at a draw, given where we were at the end of last season.

Re: Dundee utd v hibs

I'd take a draw right now but then we've got them again 5 weeks tonite and I guess we'd take a draw then as well? They'll be hoping for 4 points out of the 6. This is their first game minus Fyvie & McGinn so I wonder if I'm being a bit cautious not going for 3 points tonite. It's been the heart of their midfield all season & I don't see obvious replacements, it's upfront they have spare resources.

5-0 for us

Re: Dundee utd v hibs

Due to exceptional demand, there will be no ticket booth available at the George Fox Stand tonight. With fewer than 500 tickets available for the George Fox Stand, all briefs, subject to availability, can be purchased at the ticket centre on Tannadice Street.

George Fox Stand tickets are on sale, subject to the availability mentioned above, either in person up until kick-off, and by phone or online until 4 pm.

We strongly advise anyone purchasing or collecting tickets from the ticket centre to do so in advance of arriving for the game if possible.

Please note that there will be cash gates at the Jerry Kerr Stand although, with fewer than 800 seats available, the advice is to buy a ticket in advance or arrive early to ensure entry before kick-off.

Disabled supporters, please also note the parking restriction in North Isla Street for this particular match due to broadcasting vehicles.

Re: Dundee utd v hibs

I wonder how Manchester United manage to get 75,000 fans into Old Trafford.
We approach a five figure crowd & seem to be in disarray.
Can't be that difficult?
