Re: League Cup Final

Aberdeen can take a wee bit of heart that Celtic's recent Hampden record is quite frankly horrendous.

Ross County
St.Mirren
ICT
Hearts
Kilmarnock
Sevco

Have all defeated them in either big Semi's or Finals in the past 5 years.

Re: League Cup Final

Whilst I do not want the green arse cheeks to get The Treble, life would be hardly worth living up here if McInnes spawns another trophy!

Re: League Cup Final

Will be happy if the mutton molesters triumph against the only team in Scotland I've yet to witness a real revenge against to put bad memories to bed.

Too many bad septic memories. We put our closest 2 rivals to bed  properly in 79' 80' and 83' plus oldco in 94' trophy wise but crave the day we give the ambulance chasers a killing in a final.

Re: League Cup Final

I'm sorry but I want Celtic to win. I'll try to explain...The SPFL is a complete monopoly, formerly a duopoly. They win everything save for a few inexplicable misses, see post # 3. The other 40/41 clubs make up the rest, maybe a dozen of them are scrapping for pieces year-in, year-out. We are one of that dozen. If we can't bring home the bacon it means the Aberdeens of this world can on occasion. What that means is if it's not us like in 2010 then others are getting ahead of us, getting the glory, if Aberdeen win the League Cup today then it's like WE have failed. If Celtic win who gives a sh1t? In time Celtic will no longer be with us, the current situation cannot continue, the ££££ League is not far away & football life in Scotland thereafter will be about normal competition. Celtic effectively having the league won by the turn of the year is hopeless so let them win the treble, it's meaningless. If the likes of St Johnstone win the Scottish Cup then it's our failure, if Celtic win it so what, their fans even can't be much enjoying it,  all these titles are so predictable.

Not sure I've convinced myself with this argument. let alone others but does anyone see where I'm coming from??

Re: League Cup Final

Only because of who they're playin, rather see Aeberdeen win, but if I'm being honest, think the green onions will win. Like most of us tho, couldna give a monkey's phuck.

I see where you are coming from, while not accepting that 'not far away' 'Celtic will no longer be with us': they'll continue to have a presence, IF it ever comes to pass that they are accepted or included into a league system outside Scotland.

But the Scottish football authorities have managed to make such an arse of the opportunities handed to them over the past few years, that I reckon unless you are a Celtic or Aberdeen fan (or the confused of Govan persuasion who won;t know what side to favour today), then most other fans don't really give a shit about today's game.

Re: League Cup Final

Only a couple of hundred sheep left in the herd to applaude their team collect their loosers medals.

Genuinely forgot it was on till I came on here.

Drove past balmore at 1.30 today, 50ish yr old boy at the door with a sheep scarf on, thought to myself they must be at Dens today, now thinking what grown adult goes to the boozer with a football scarf on to watch a game on TV?
