Not optimistic: 3-0 to England.

Re: England v Scotland predictions?

I'll watch through my fingers, but I've never been as disinterested in a Scotland England game in my life as I am with this one.  And the blame lies fairly and squarely at the feet of Regan (who should be dismissed) and Strachan (who should also be dismissed, unless he stops treating us as foo kin idiots with his, ahem, view of the game).

Re: England v Scotland predictions?

Hope I'm wrong, but from that squad Strachan chose, I'd have picked a quite different side. James McArthur Stephen Kingsley and probably David Marshall would have started, all are playing in a better league than Forrest, Wallace and Gordon, and I'd have tried to find space for Oliver Burke at some point in the game too too, direct and strong.

Nonetheless, my fingers are crossed.

Re: England v Scotland predictions?

Plenty effort. Little quality.  Bad goal to lose. Worse was Griffiths' 'shot'.

Re: England v Scotland predictions?

P4W4 - that was as good as we could have expected IMO, but all undone by Berra and Hanley going to sleep and allowing Sturridge 3 yards.  Then Hanley missing a straight forward header and shirt pulling in their box and Griffiths being too selfish, as you say.

Re: England v Scotland predictions?

England look poor defensively, just not anywhere near as bad as Scotland.

I've been slightly surprised by the Scottish performance, but then have to mind that they are not as good as I (or the media) might imagine.

Scotland are poor down both sides, especially the left.

Just turned the hour and we're three zip to a poor, dull, boring and lacklustre team.  Time for us tae think again.

Re: England v Scotland predictions?

We've been badly let down by dopey defending and failure to take chances.  That goal was incredible.  We mark zones and no one recognises Cahill at the post - WTF???!!!

Re: England v Scotland predictions?

And now they're bringing on Vardy. No goals this season. Watch that change. Should've watched the Leonard Cohen programme on BBC4. It'd have had. More life than this.

Re: England v Scotland predictions?

If Strachan chucks it, which I doubt, the problem isn't who is available, it's who the SFA finds acceptable.

A total clear out of the Scottish football authorities, both SFA and SPFL (and why do we need two governing bodies?) is required. And that won't happen, because it wouldn't suit two teams from Glasgow.

Meanwhile our rugby LEAGUE team take on New Zealand and get a draw.  Look what that team's coach said after the game and compare it with Wee Gordy's post match (non) comments."I'm as proud as anything," said Scotland coach Steve McCormack."Not only that never-say-die attitude from our lads but just the manner in which we got that result."We're also a bit disappointed that we didn't win. The players were sensational. We've played against the world's best team tonight with a young team."

World away from the round ball players' approach!  were12-10 up with six minutes to go.  Conceded two tries and then at the last gasp scored a converted try to bring it to 18 all.

Don't usually agree with Tom English but he's spot on about Strachan and Michael O'Neil!

Re: England v Scotland predictions?

If ye canna block or defend crosses, and you canna take your chances, you're goosed. FFS England score with all of their attempts.

Was gonna say somethin political, but fear Tek droppin a pallet of bricks on me. Strachan can phuck off and take 53 million others with him.
