And some will still moan

Win next week and it's looking good for seriously challenging Hibs.
We finally have a settled defence,
Flood and Telfer look the part together,
Andreu is head and shoulders above this level (when he is quiet though, he is quiet)
Having the pace and energy of Murray & Smith off the bench is an asset.
Fraser looks interested again.
Only bad points from yesterday was Tope & VdV.
Edit to add Donaldson to the bad points, fucking bombscare of a laddie.

We are definitely getting good results without hitting our top form, yesterday we again basically played with 10 men with Topi contributing absolutely fuck all yet again.
Cammy Smith surely comes in next week, also VDV is hardly setting the heather on fire and I hope RM is on the case.
Telfer and Durnan are now playing like their potential suggested so absolutely chuffed with this, Durnan is benefitting playing beside an experienced partner in Willie and the two of them are really strong figures standing their ground now.
Massive massive game next up and not losing would do me.

VDV looked really good in the early stages of the League Cup. For me this was for two reasons. Firstly, these games were played at not much more than friendly pace on pitches in excellent condition. Secondly, he played as a number 10 in behind the striker.
However, since the season started properly the pace of games has increased dramatically and he's struggled to cope as a number 10 with basically getting smashed if you dilly dally on the ball. Ray has tried switching him wide but apart from the second half against a very tired QOTS, he's clearly not got the legs for that role anymore. The last time I think he played well and had an impact on a game as a number 10 was probably Falkirk away. He's been poor and slowed us down most games since then.
I still think he can do a job up top provided you play the ball into his feet. I couldn't believe the amount of high balls and crosses we were trying to fire into him on Saturday considering he's not really a striker and the fact that their defence was absolutely huge. Even a good target man would've struggled on Saturday.

Having watched us huff n puff again at the weekend, I'm struggling with understanding why we've never again tried the formation that we blitzed Partick Thistle in the League Cup with, ie Tope up front and then the runners coming through. Can anyone explain?

Would love to see it.
Not sure whether he's trying to get a defensive good feeling going or whether opposition teams will sit with 10 men behind the ball and hope for a point. Guess pt were a bit more open which gave us space to play that way?

Results have been good, performances less convincing. But if we huff and puff like this for the remainder of the season, we should do okay, as long as nobody else finds form.
But Morton are improving, winning all their league games since we beat them at Tannadice, and Hibs haven't dropped so many points recently.
Doing 'okay' might not be enough, as we've rarely been comfortable in matches.

I'm not sure we'll ever see a great performance at all this season, I'll settle for an ugly 3 points.
What I do know is we are a better side without Toshney.

We are without question a better team without Toshney who really hasn't impressed me at all since he came here, my worry is he's definitely a clear favourite of the manager and he will be put straight back into the team to its detriment.
We are winning ugly just now and hats off to all for this but if we are to go all the way we will need to find a few more gears, if we suffer a few bad breaks we will be seriously derailed!
We are now in a healthy league position and if we can extend this unbeaten run we should create a gap with the teams around us.

How do you Ken, he's no gonna change a winning team? Only change I can see him making is putting toshney beside flood and pushing telfer further forward or play a 3 letting telfer roam! Don't complain if you don't actually know what's gonna happen
