No,not the one on here we all know and love for saying 'Eh' to every single 'WYOWYN',but the Utd strike star of the 60's,will be the clubs guest of honour on Saturday (and will be paraded round the pitch to the fans at half time).
He will be joined by fellow 'Nou Camp hero', the former Swedish Internationalist Lennart Wing.
Should be a very nostalgic momeny for Utd supporters of a certain vintage I'm sure.

Don't mind admitting he was my childhood hero. Wouldna lie and say that it was nothing to do with him scoring against Barca, as my Old Man and Granda were no shy in boasting he was the 1st United player to score in Europe.
When the Old Man told me he was leavin United I was broken hearted. Geez a break lads, I was only 6 year-old at the time.
You'll know who I am on Saturday. I'll be the daft middle-aged chunt in the GF Lower standing greetin.

Hope that the tannoy guy makes those unaware very aware of who is to be appreciated and why.
Please shout yer appreciation a bit louder to enlighten the younger and unaware to join in.
He scored 16 goals from an inside forward position in 65 games. 1st goal was a winner v Old Rangers in a 1-0 home win 6 days after he signed for £8000.
He then scored the opener against the sheep in a 3-0 win at Tannadice.
Then he scored the 2nd again at Tannadice versus the 66' Dee team to seal a 2-0 win in the League Cup.
Then scored at Dens in the return leg to ensure no loss and progression to the next round where he scored again at home in a 5-3 victory against St Johnstone.
In October and November the same year he scored against the so called "MIGHTY BARCELONA" at Tannadeechee and the Nou Camp to set up half the P4W4
In 67' he notably scored in a 2-3 win at Celtic and a 5-0 home win v Aberdeen.
These were transitional times for us and some historical events.
Make sure you rattle yer tonsils and vocally appreciate this man as he deserves all the appreciation you can give.

Think Billy Hainey scored the first goal I saw United scored 'live', so looking forward to this on Saturday.

Did oor historic hero get a decent reception?

Aye they did m8. Rousing reception at half-time. Great to see them both. Dinna remember Lenny Wing as much, but still recognised him as he never had much hair ! Billy Hainey's put on the beef since I last saw him, which must be over 48 years ago, when he went to St.Mirren. Might be wrong, but don't think he ever played against us as a St.Mirren player.
