Best albums so far in the 21st Century?
Lads, please just state the album (year if you please) and provide link (please don't embed video as it makes thread run very slowly after a few embedded posts in a row).I apologise for this inconvience, but want every thread to run as swiftly as possible.Ya dig ?
The Strokes "Is This It" - 2001

The Gaslight Anthem - The '59 Sound. 2008.
Not sure if many of you have heard of them but if you like Americana rock (not quite punk, think more heavy Springsteen) then you might like these guys.
Offline
The Twang - 10:20. Very slow burner, but couldn't stop playing it. Their debut album wasn't too shabby either.
Offline
Can't go without mentioning the Boss.
Bruce Springsteen - The Rising. 2002. Inspired to get back together with the E Street band after 18 years, this was his reflection on 9/11.
To the meloncollie 'You're Missing'..
To the uplifting 'Waiting on a sunny day'..

I'm on holiday so on phone.
PJ Harvey - Let England Shake is definitely a shout though

I was at that gig Seggyboy.
Is that the night their support band was a French electronica band (a guy and a burd) who were hilariously bad and almost ended up bottled aff. They were giving the crowd abuse back, was quite marvelous.
The Strokes then took over an hour to come on stage after the support had finished. It was roasting and the crowd were getting tetchy as fuck.Few scuffles breaking out.
Braw gig once they finally came on though.

Agreed on both counts. Their fourth album (Suck it and See) is superb too.
Skying by the Horrors is a cracking album.
Music of the Spheres and My Way by Ian Brown both excellent.
My personal post 2000 fave is 'A Hundred Days Off' by Underworld.

Good shout lifesanocean on the horrors, primary colours one of my most listened too of recent years
