Firstly.
Great initiative the club are getting behind.👏👏👏👏
Dundee United will play in their vivid pink third kit during their match with Dumbarton on Saturday (22 October) to raise vital funds for Breast Cancer Now’s life-saving research and spread awareness of the disease.
Football fans will be encouraged to ‘Wear it Pink’ and to text BCN to 70300 to donate £3 to support Breast Cancer Now’s research. The Club website will be pink themed on Saturday and ahead of kick-off, the PA announcer will explain why the team are wearing pink, and big screen branding across the stadium will provide fans with the text response number to donate to the charity. All social media graphics will also be pink themed for this match.
All funds raised during the match will go directly to Breast Cancer Now’s cutting-edge research, which will help the charity to meet their ambition that by 2050, everyone who develops breast cancer will live.
Ray McKinnon, Manager said, “We’re delighted to support Breast Cancer Now and, with the help of our loyal fans, we want to spread awareness and raise much-needed funds for research.
“Breast Cancer is all too common – everyone knows someone who has experienced this awful disease – so we want to play a part in helping to ensure that by 2050 everyone who develops breast cancer will live.
“So, this Saturday support our Terrors in pink and don’t forget to text your donation!”
Mary Allison, Director for Scotland, Breast Cancer Now said: “We’re incredibly grateful that Dundee United has chosen to support Breast Cancer Now.
“Right now, more women are being diagnosed with breast cancer than ever before. Around 1,000 people die from the disease and over 4,600 are diagnosed with breast cancer each year in Scotland.
“We believe that, by 2050, breast cancer will have taken its last life – but only if we all act now. It’s thanks to fantastic supporters like Dundee United that we can invest in research that’s finding new ways to prevent, detect and treat breast cancer so that no one has to lose the men and women they love to this disease.”
The vivid pink replica strip, produced as a third option for United this season has been one of the best-selling kits provided by the Club over the years and Dundee United Direct is currently fully stocked in all sizes from SB right through to XXL.
Dundee United supports Breast Cancer Now. Please text BCN to 70300 to donate £3 to support Breast Cancer Now’s research.

Totally agree TEK. After countless own goals over the last couple of years, that's much more like it from the Club. I'll be proud to be a (pink) Arab on Saturday!

Missing this, another Saturday 3 pm game, yet again.
Think it will be the same team as Paisley, but Donaldson in for Durnan.
But see this new optimism about getting 6 points from the next two home games: Dumbarton and Falkirk are the only two to beat us in the league so far................
Having said that, I'll be massively disappointed if we don't go into the game at Dumfries with the chance of overtaking QoS, at least.

Great to see the club supporting this.
Really felt there was some silky, flowing movement last week. Need to keep the pace up. I felt we were weakest when we slowed it all up.
Hope Donaldson gets his chance AND TAKES IT. It would be a real sign Rsy's getting to grip with solving all the hangovers from last season.

This will be the first time Dumbarton have played at Tanadice in over 20 years(April 6th 1996 to be exact).
And on that occasion they took a 3rd minute lead through Lee Sharp. But this just proved to annoy Utd as we went on to give them 6 without further reply.Gary McSwegan scoring 4 in the 1st half alone. We had of course defeated them 8-0 that season in the previous Tanadice fixture.
April 6th 1996 - Att:7,142
Dundee Utd 6 Dumbarton 1
McSwegan 5
McSwegan 8
McSwegan 41
McSwegan 43
Perry 59
Brewster 85
Maxwell
Perry
Pressley
Welsh
Malpas

THIS side would rip our current one a new arsehole imho.

My 1st United victory was against Dumbarton in October 84'.
Tommy Coyne came on in the 73rd minute and a quick Luggy free kick flicked on by Davie Dodds was stuck in the net by Coyne in the 74th minute to give us a 1-0 win
Wee lass who's 6 has asked to go tomorrow and wear her new pink Utd top.
If we win it will also be her 1st win witnessed and against the same team in the same month 32 years after mine.

I'd forgotten they'd been in the top league in the 'eighties! They've been through a lot of dismal seasons since, quite a few years in the bottom league. Looked up to see who their manager was in 84-5: none other than Davie Wilson.

he was came off for coote on 87. would have had him off 15 minutes before

Fraser and Telfer were very good today IM. massive save from Bell in the first half as if we fell behind it would have been a real struggle. Tope had his ice skates on looked like bambi at times. Officials were shocking, they must have gotten 75% of easy decisions wrong. 3 massive points

Officials horrific how long will these people get away with these mistakes?

Absolutely disgraceful refereeing performance today. Linesmen not a clue about offside rule as well. Shocking.
Offline
I had the wee man with us today so got my tickets changed to the Jerry Kerr and was right in line with the linesman and I shit you not he guessed (and got wrong) almost every decision. How the fuck these guys get to make money from the game is infuckingcredibe.
Offline
Even if guessing though, common sense would make you apply the law of averages. He just kept putting his flag up.
Referee forgot to count his steps on the free kick against us and took 12.
Was anyone in line with the linesman in the first half? I refuse to believe all those ones were offside. If they were, someone needs work done at training this week.
BTW - the ref wasn't even looking at the foul he decided to book flood for, he just loved making it about him.

I'd love to see what these chunts get on their report cards, as taking them as an officiating team, that was worse than even the Clancey and Harris show in Inverness at Ciftigate a couple of seasons back.
Mrs Twat (a died in the wool Don's fan) came along today and even she could not believe what was going on, so it's not just us having tangerine tints on!
Hope the wee man had a day to remember LaO.
Offline
He loved it mate. Wee man (not so wee really) was one of the mascots today. Mrs LAO actually enjoyed it as well.

Was very impressed with their Numbers 10 and 9, so decided to research them.
Robert Thomson used to be in our Acadamy .
End of research!

Asolutely delighted with that win. Up to 2nd and with officials performing like they had their morgages on the opposition I'm just relieved.
Happy as fuck my wee lass saw us win for the 1st time and against the same team I saw my 1st win against in the same month 32 years ago by the same margin.
Crowd was actually up on 84 when we'd recently won the league and had beaten AIK Stockholm 3 days before setting us up for Man Utd in the next round of the UEFA Cup.
Says something that we have the same support (slightly better today) now in the wee league on a rainy day at current prices.
