Scotty Fraser

Seen the STV news last night and couple things the day about a couple of English clubs sniffing about the young lad Peterbourgh Charlton Rotherham Bristol City all had scouts at St Mirren where he was quality. McKinnon saying he's not surprised but wants to keep him. Anybody else heard/seen anything? And should we sell or keep come Jan ??

Re: Scotty Fraser

Firstly,Welcome to the Forum Andy and thanks for your first post.

I would hope we keep him till the seasons end at least.

It would of course (as always) depend on what anyone was prepared to bid for him.

Personally though I'm pig sick of us seeing young lads depart though, just as they're threatening to do something for us (Allan,Gauld,Robertson,John Souttar,Hary Souttar).Enough's enough.

He is starting to prove pivotal for us and is linking up well with Andreu inparticular.

Re: Scotty Fraser

Looks as though his all round game is improving under Ray, hopefully he'll appreciate the coaching he's getting now which might persuade him to stick around

Re: Scotty Fraser

No way he should be sold this season, we all know what'll happen if a decent bid comes in tho.

Don't see anything happening in January anyway TBH.

In a world where the relationship was between player and club that would be a real possibility. You could say, "right, you'll be a virtual certainty of being one of the first name s on my team sheet EVERY week. Stay here and you'll really hone your craft.  A bit of patience now and it won't be the Rotherhams that'll be asking to speak to you".

An agent will be nippin away week on week and be thinking ONLY about his cut.

Top man Tek!

I agree with all that's said he is definitely improving all aspects of his game. For me Fraser has the most natural footballing ability at our club and I think he will be key to our success this season! Hopefully ST thinks the same Tek and is fed up of the abuse for selling our best young talent.    Does anyone actually know what kind of lad fraser is? Comes across in his AZone interviews as very relaxed and quiet funny! Is he mature enough to think about his career rather than money right now ??

The hypocrisy on the forums (not so much this one, Tekel's better) is staggering.
Nuff said.

Re: Scotty Fraser

Fraser has always had the talent and at last he's showing real desire to take the knocks and be our driving force.....great to see his positive style last few games.

If Thompson sells him this window I'll never be back

Re: Scotty Fraser

Welcome too, Andy.

Surely, Plumber, there were more annoying transfers from the club in the past than a potential Fraser move in January? Yet you've kept going. Is it a 'last straw' situation that you are envisaging?

In any case, I doubt Fraser has done enough to attract decent bids at this stage: perhaps a cheeky offer from Lennon at Hibs, other than that, I can't see it yet.

Your right - agents at the bottom of a lot of transfer requests though it's easy for us to say stick around when it's not us getting offered the big bucks

Oh and I see that while I've lost an aria p4w4 you've gained a chorus

Idea pinched unashamedly from yours truly. Just thought that would sound great booming out fae The Shed of a packed Tannadiche.

It probably is him 'starting to produce' but you shouldn't be slating him, he's just a youngster at the start of his professional football career who despite that is trusted/rated enough by the manager to keep playing him so that he does develop. David Narey would have been the same in his time, he would have been raw at first but JYM liked what he saw in him & picked him & he just got better & better.

No forums in these days stating 'Narey's pish' and the like

Re: Scotty Fraser

He was pish for most games last season nd hasnt been much better this season so far bar one or two games.. He has played plenty games for us so if people want to vent anger/frustration/annoyance at him they are entitled to

Re: Scotty Fraser

We'll not be bothered then when we get £75k  for him from Hearts in January.
Good to see John Souttar holding down a regular CH berth in the SPFL Premier, he was pish too was he not?

Both players have potential,  everyone could/can see that.
Souttar didn't want to be at tannadice.  He wanted out asap.  He looked as though he couldn't be bothered and was going through the motions. That's how folk were getting pissed off with him. Now he's got his move and is doing well. Fair play to him.

Fraser is different imo.  He's only shown flashes of his ability while in the 1St team.  And let's be honest here at times he's been woeful.  and if you're woeful then folk are entitled to criticise or be pissed off with them. Now he seems to have taken on board what the manager wants and to his credit you can see the improvement.  Long may it last.

Fwiw IF a semi decent offer comes in in January I reckon he's away.

Re: Scotty Fraser

IMO most United fans once they have an opinion of a player there is no way back for that player, think a lot would still say Souttar is ***** yet one of England's biggest clubs (given they aren't what they used to be) now looking at him and when he was at Tannadice even bigger English clubs after him...

Fraser I honestly feel has loads of potential more than anyone we currently have in our ranks as I posted earlier I feel he is our most gifted footballer and now his attitude seems to be improved under RM hopefully he's enjoying his football now and stays till summer at least, feel if he gets the chance though he will jump ship as soon as he can.

Re: Scotty Fraser

I get the feeling some folk are using the potential of Scott Fraser to have another pop at the chairman, for something that hasn't happened..............yet.

Re: Scotty Fraser

Fans are entitled to come and shout what they want.
Other fans are also entitled to question the mentality of someone that turns up to vent their anger at a 20year old with potential. Especially if they are unhappy he is inconsistent- we all know most young players are. I don't know what enjoyment these fans get from being in a perma-rage.
I prefer the look at the positives. He's a young lad that has came through our ranks. He shows great potential. If he develops into a top player, with support from the team and the supporters, that's pretty much one of the few positives a non OF team can get these days in the Scottish game.
That's what has me turning up each week. If I didn't find any positives in going, I'd struggle to justify the effort

Watched his debut for dev team 3 or 4 years ago at Dens (as a sub) and thought then, as I think now, he has the best feet at our club. Seems he thought, to his detriment, that he was only a no 10 and is now fortunately realising there is a lot more to the game.

Don't think anyone is tbh.  Scott Fraser is nowt to do with anything the chairman does or doesn't do.
