Re: St mirren v dundee utd

That's what I'd play but I'd have either Tope or Fraser in ahead of Spittal.

Too much commotion

Re: St mirren v dundee utd

Cammy Bell says he could be ready for Saturday, Ray might put him back In although It wouldn't be good to rush him.

Re: St mirren v dundee utd

This is a game we simply must win and they're under new management which is a bit crap timing for us.

We haven't played well in the first halves lately so looking for a positive start on saturday and praying Murray is nowhere near the team, we simply must link up play better than what's happened lately.

Re: St mirren v dundee utd

We have St Mirren away then Dumbarton at home next week, 4 points at least.

Re: St mirren v dundee utd

I've watched St.Mirren recently and although they're bottom currently i don't think they will be for long.

Scored 3 at East End Park and it and it could have been more.Drew with Falkirk and were the better team overall i thought and of course won at Easter Road just on Saturday past.

Unfortunately for us they seem to be turning the corner and hitting form just at the wrong time.

In the games i watched (Dunfermline and Falkirk) John Sutton was excellent and looked exactly the type of player WE need actually.

I was also impressed with Stevie Mallan and Tom Walsh.

It'll be a hard game at a ground we don't often win at (though we don't often lose either tbf...bout 80% draws).

We will need to play for the full 90 minutes and have to be more clinical infront of goal. The Falkirk game we passed up about 4 great chances before they even scored. We can't afford to be wasteful infront of goal as we are always liable to concede unfortunately.

My team would be.....

...........................Bell......................
Spittal...Durnan....Edjenguele...Robson
....................Fraser....Telfer......
...............VDV.....Andreu...Smith...
.......................Obadeyi..........

Subs - Zwick
            Murray
            Dixon
            Dillon
            Matty Smith
            VDS
            Donaldson

Sutton has caused us issues at every club he's been at.  He is such an awkward bugger and yes exactly the sort of player we could do with having the option of having.

Re: St mirren v dundee utd

FWIW, I agree about Sutton but can you imagine the meltdown amongst certain fans if we'd signed him!?

Re: St mirren v dundee utd

None of us envisaged us being here in october with a Junior level striker as our only option, even pish like Sutton would be miles better than our options which really sums up this farce.

Re: St mirren v dundee utd

Want us to attack. Drop this 4213 formation and go and try to win the game.
Get VDV in the middle with Murray. Andreu, Tope and Cammy playing behind the front 2.
Flood back in.
Same back 4 as Hibs & Morton. Continuity is key I think.

If Willo's back that looks a good side.

Hitting the nearest boozer to the ground if Murray is starting.

If we're naming our own side:

Bell

Frank
William
Durnan
Robson

Cammy
Willo
Telfer
Obadeyi

Andreu
VDV

Re: St mirren v dundee utd

I see there's an offer there to allow £2 off the £20 entrance fee:

"Season Ticket holders should simply bring in voucher P (For Paisley) to secure the reduced price of £18."

Grand, apart from it would cost £25-30 in petrol for me to simply bring in voucher P to the United Ticket Centre.

Think it will be a close encounter, United shading it 2-1.

Fraser in for Murray with VDV and Andreu both moving forward 1 and that would be my side.

Delighted with the results there today.

Looking forward to getting direct reports from folk who went- I'm stuck in a pub in Glasgow.

Re: St mirren v dundee utd

Over the 90 minutes we deserved to win but not a brilliant performance but good enough and results elsewhere were brilliant for us.

Durnan was excellent until to late bookings ruined his day and Scott Fraser was involved with everything good going forward.

Superb finish from Tony to seal the win

Re: St mirren v dundee utd

Good to hear Durnan was good again, despite the red card.  Also good to hear Scott Fraser was good again, despite some people's opinions of him I reckon he's gonna be key to our chances this season, he's not perfect but will be a very good player for us IMO.

Andreu is class and if he's here all season will score more than I've seen any Utd player score in a season before, shouldn't really be in this league, but delighted he is.
