Re: Ryan Dow

His Tannadice career just seemed to trickle down. Had some fine games for us, could have been a cup final hero but for a few centimetres difference (but you still get the feeling we'd have managed to blow it even if we'd taken the lead).

But some terrible games and moments too, none worse than the miss against Killie in the September game last season around this time.

Better off elsewhere.

Re: Ryan Dow

Beautifully summed up by Beardy and Pat.  Dowser bleeds tangerine like the rest of us and as such should be spared any brutal comments other than factual ones.  His career (thus far) shows the fine line between success and failure.  In the League Cup semi game versus the Sheep at Hampden, he came on and changed the game for us by running beyond their back 4.  But the reality is he was injured almost as much as Calum Morris and there were not enough of those Hampden moments.  I wish him a bit more luck - just not against us!

Re: Ryan Dow

TU: see saying someone is a useless cunt, yet they make their living from the game, that tells me you must be some player yourself

Comments above about his performance when he came on in the semi final v Aberdeen are spot on, he had some great performances for us, another being the Kilmarnock 5-1 game last season where he made a huge difference holding the ball up allowing others into the match. Just had too many injuries and was inconsistent.

Re: Ryan Dow

Is this gonna be his season then is it?

Can count on one hand the number of times I've came away thinking he was decent, always a man less when he started.

Re: Ryan Dow

He hid far too often. If he's going to continue to make s living from the game he'll have to change that, add in he's not very good anyway and I think he'll struggle to make any impact up there.

Re: Ryan Dow

Gardyne was awful at Utd but has done well at County.

Maybe Dow will surprise a few folk and do well there.

There's far more pressure at a club like Utd with (let's be honest) a far more demanding fan base.

Re: Ryan Dow

Didn't think Gardyne was poor at United. But he didn't have much sell on value. Too old.

Houston signing , not favoured by the next management team.

Re: Ryan Dow

Gotta disagree there Pat.

I thought Gardyne was very poor for Utd overall.

Remember him clearing the Shed with a shot v someone when put through on goal.

Was pretty much in line wi that in the final - was up celebrating when the young lad got me to sit. Came at a time when the forum thoughrs were he was better than Gauld.

Young Ryan has yet to set any heather in Lisbon ablaze. Mebbes it'll happen in Dingwall.

Kinda hope it comes good for him.
