Re: Malta v Scotland

Nope.

Used to go to all home matches some away games but couldn't tell you when or where we're playing Malta.

Re: Malta v Scotland

To be fair, I wish I did still care, really quite sad the way it's gone, but the team selections, Strachan and the SFA make it so hard to give a fuck.

Strachan in particular and his constant negativity about all things Scottish football does my head in.

Re: Malta v Scotland

For an ex Dee, ex Don and ex Tim, I actually used to like Strachan, but have become disillusioned with him.

However, it's the SFA I have the major beef with, the folk at the top have got away with ineptitude and poor decision making for years, whilst some have procured large wage rises. I'm looking at you, Regan.

At away fixtures, all those faceless committee men travel first class, stay in five star hotels and run up huge expenses, all paid for by us, fans who go to run of the mill matches in Scotland. We don't even have to go to Hampden to contribute to these leeches and their foreign jaunts.

Used to go to all the matches in Scotland, and several away, now might not even watch, and almost expect a defeat.

Re: Malta v Scotland

Despite myself I actually enjoyed that game last night (maybe it was because I had a few Sunday night swallies).

Thought the debutant Burke looked pretty impressive indeed. And Snodgrass proved once again what a good player he is. Forget Scott Brown it's Snodgrass we've really missed in the midfield.

Really starting to take to Matt Richie too. Very good player imo.

Re: Malta v Scotland

Chris Martin is slow as fuck.
Get Griffiths as the main striker since he's got pace and play Ritchie in behind (since he's a bit too slow to play as a wide player really) with Burke and Snodgrass wide either side and Scotland might be on to something.

Barry Bannan was also impressive playing deeper (a bit like Charlie Telfer on Saturday actually).

Darren Fletcher is ponderous as anything and only appears to play the way he is facing.  (He's still better than McArthur who is the worst player I have ever seen capped for Scotland.)
We looked much better without Alan Hutton as well.

Robbo got better as the game went on and was a real attacking threat, unlucky not to score in fact.  I'm positive Strachan doesn't rate him though and is always looking for an excuse to drop him.

Re: Malta v Scotland

Robertson was very good.

He'll earn himself 70+ caps if he can avoid bad injuries in his career.

Re: Malta v Scotland

As a 10 years old bairn stood on the couch entranced by the Scotland v england rivalry and  I jumped so high when our player scored the winner and only goal in a match against the auld enemy that I hit my head aff the ceiling.

A few years later was proud to see 6 Utd players fielded in an international against I think Israel.
Not about being successful or winners just proud of what matters to me.

This will never change or be influenced by the media, money, fellow fans with different feelings or what most call  common sense.

Yer team is yer team. Yer nation the same.

If we beat england at Wembley on November 11th I will die a happy man. If not I will write off my trip to Wembley like I did the last time i went a couple of years ago like Hampden with United for so many years and keep hoping for a 94' 2010' turnaround for oor nation.

Holding out for luck TBH but we are due a muckle load of it.
