East Kilbride FC

Want to take some easy money from the bookies?

Lump some dough on EKFC becoming a professional team in the SPFL next season.
Absolutely tearing up the Lowland league this season.

I mean winning 4/5/6 nil every week.

Incidentally they have Robbie Winters in their squad at the moment.

Wouldn't be so sure Tek- Cumberland have won five in a row, the Shire have only played four games, and scored eight away from home last Saturday.

Shire go to Kilby this week.

Then, of course, Buckie have equaled EK's scoring feat so far, and even if the Lowland winners beat the Highland champs, there's another two games to negotiate.

Early days!

Re: East Kilbride FC

It is indeed early days Pat.

They weren't far away last season though and seem to have strengthened their squad further.

Saturday's game v East Stirlingshire will be a good indicator for both teams as to how the league may go.

Spartans will likely be there or thereabouts also I'd imagine.

Re: East Kilbride FC

Odd that East Stirlingshire are doing well - saw them last season and they were truly honking - was wholly unsurprised when they lost the play-off

Re: East Kilbride FC

The Shire are shocking defensively: they lost three first half goals last Saturday. But they have a very good strike force, and scored SEVEN in the opening 45 minutes themselves.

Buckie Thistle have scored six more than EK in the same amount of fixtures so far, I'd say in a far more difficult league.

Time will tell.

Only scoring the 1 goal today.

But defeating East Stirlingshire in the big game of the day in the Lowland League.

Early goal too: mind you, Buckie Thistle scored another six away from home today.

Re: East Kilbride FC

One things for sure, it's certainly better that teams like EK and Buckie now have the opportunity of proper progress.

Re: East Kilbride FC

10 man EK defeating Cowdenbeath away in the 2nd Round of the Scottish Cup today.

Incidentally that was their 25th win in a row today (the World record is 26 wins in a row).

See that World Record, it has to the 'The Rangers' that hold it, eh?

Just kidding. And I see my tip to come into the league system, Buckie Thistle, struggled at home to Gretna2008 ('not the same club!') for a draw.

I saw Gretna2008 a few weeks ago, they were terrible, unfit and overweight, so this result surprised me.

Just back to ABZ (loads of Sheep on the A90).  It said on the radio it is Ajax with Cruyff that they now share the record with Pat.

Ta for that. Ajax were maybe playing in more challenging competitions.

I'm sure there will be other teams in the world which will have beaten the Ajax record, same as a keeper might have saved three penalties in a short 22 minutes or less.

Re: East Kilbride FC

It is an amazing run, but the whole world record thing will never be proved, there must by thousands of leagues across world football at similar level or better and I'm certain that there'll be teams somewhere who have bettered that.

They've done well with the publicity tho and I'm sure the club coffers are healthier for it.  From the little I know they seem a well run outfit with real desire to progress up the ranks.

Re: East Kilbride FC

Bumpity bump......

See the EK captain dismissing the 'Shire yesterday with "but nobody has really spoke about East Stirling for the last 10 years so I don’t know why people should start worrying about them now"

And tonight EK lost, at home, to Cumbernauld Colts.

On top of that
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/38397784?ns_mchannel=social&ns_campaign=bbc_match_of_the_day&ns_source=facebook&ns_linkname=sport

We should never have let Welsh teams into the Challenge Cup.

Re: East Kilbride FC

Lol.

I'm starting to think you don't like EK Pat.😫

Btw that was their first loss in months.Still romping the Lowland 😉

P.s. fairplay to TNS if they break the record.Hopefully Utd pump them in the Irn Bru Final to take them down a peg or two.

Re: East Kilbride FC

Although a Stenhousemuir fan locally, I've watched a couple of Shire games this season and know a a few folk connected to the club. One of them is a big United fan.

I've no animosity towards East Kilbride

But that's not their first loss in months, Spartans beat them last month too. They're floundering!
