I cannot understand what is going on just now. We have got rid of Anier so we are now down to 1 striker. We have also got rid of Souttar and loaned out Sukar so we are now down to the 3 D's for centre half. WTF these 3 are a major part of the team that got us relegated.. It's all right getting a decent keeper but unless he has a defence in front of him we have no chance. I am ok with Ray's signings so far but the 2 places we were desperate to strengthen haven't been touched. I thought when Anier went we must have had a replacement lined up but we're still waiting. We only have a week and a half to get this mess sorted.

I think the majority thought when Anier went the replacement would be signed within a day or two.

Heard there's a signing today

It's far from ideal but I know they are working hard to get at least one centre half and one striker in, it's just been difficult to get better that we've currently got - which says something about the caliber of player being offered to us!
All that said the closer to the window closing we get the more likely we have to risk a panic buy.

Ray McK saying on arabzone interview recorded this moring that we are just about there with one player maybe today and another on trial who they already know. As ever reiterating the point that we won't rush decisions.

Regarding Anier, probably the opportunity came up for us to get him off the wage bill and it had to be done at that point: plenty fans would have been pleased to see the back of him for most of his Tannadice career anyway.
It's better that Ray is happy with who he is bringing in and being patient, much more patient than me right enough.

It's a bit ridiculous that, the defence and attack haven't been strengthened

I'd rather that we wait on the correct signing rather than chuck money on another Gunning, Demel, Kuhl, type signings wage.
Patience required unfortunately, Ray will get there.

The longer it goes the more pressure RM will feel, I honestly feel he's been let down from the board with a lack of realistic funding.
Offline
Perhaps the funding is there but not the player available he wants.....Ray will be working on it.

Possibly bud, definitely a factor but rekon without it we'd still be trying something just maybe with less £'s to tempt quality players in.
Ray McK reportedly/supposedly has held back the last of the £'s in the hope that we do some business near the end of the window.
See him asked about caving in to just buy in before the window closes in interviews but mind that can go 2 ways as players without contracts or looking to leave get desperate too as time runs out.
Confident he will do better in this respect than previous managers but worried like most.
Rekon we will bring in at least 2 players.

It wouldn't be Ideal, and I'd prefer permanent signings, but am I right in saying that as we are in a lower league the loan window actually stays open longer for us? Have it in my head that that is the case though could be talking rot.

Sure it shuts at the same time all over Morph.
Hopeful we bring in 3 quality big strong players or at least 2 of that and a good striker.
Watched loads of clips on youtube fae the late 80's last night and was astounded watching what Luggy, Ralphie, Heggie and Narey did regularly in unique ways.
All had bravery though, on tap and if we can have more of that now things will be so much better.

Heard we are signing 2 defenders.

We are indeed.
Centre Forward required next ASAP.

Ray confirmed on the radio yesterday that two defenders are coming in today which is great but we need two streets as well.
We've handed Hibe one hell of an advantage after just 4 games and 3 of those have been home games!!
I actually thought we'd been given an easy start to get off to a winning start
I really cannot understand the logic at out club.every season we leave it right until the last minute to get players in and this time we are behind the 8 ball with a mountain to climb if we are to challenge Hibs.

So, the two defenders are Frank van der Struijker, right centre half, Dutch, 31 year old with 300+ games at top level in Holland.
And William Edjenguele, 29 year old French, left c/h. Played in Switzerland, England and Greece.
Welcome to our new ministry of defence, both will hopefully play on Saturday and will surely be an improvement on what we have.

Hopefully they both fit in well, straight away. Has to be an improvement.
Was picturing the SCENES when the mystery 2nd one was announced as Gav Gunning aswell. That would have seen a real meltdown.

This surely means that at least one of Durnan / Donaldson will leave?

Reports of Durnan leaving ASAP but nothing confirmed yet

Lad in work said he seen the interview with Mckinnon on Saturday night and that the two defenders are the only business we will be doing this window. Haven't seen it personally! If true though, going into the remainder of the season with 1 recognised striker in Murray is suicide.

Not watched it either but if he thinks our striker options are good enough then i dont know what ya say to that.
