Hope you are right re Ray, AP.

I doubt Stevie Wonder would fail to see we are lacking new players, and I'll be hugely surprised and disappointed if this doesn't happen. Even ST can't risk that..... surely?

The fact we've left it so late isn't a good sign and even if we get a couple in the chances of them being quality are slim I'd say

Thompsons promise of communication, openess and fixing  the mistakes were hollow words.......imagine that!!!!

Re: Thompson interview

Don't think Ray will get anything less than 100% backing all season.  He's not the problem, the fact he appears to be having to do the job with 1 hand tied behind his back is the problem.

Re: Thompson interview

Ray has been given a lot of backing, Obadeyi, Toshney, Bell, Flood, VDV and Murdoch wouldn't have come cheap, also he decided to keep Dickers on top dollar after he said he would leave to help balance the books.

That's seven regular starters. That's a massive (albeit required) turnover.

We need two centre halves, we needed them 14 months ago and still do now.  I would argue that we needed them more than most of the new signings.

Ray will rightly be backed from tbe stands this year but the bare minimum with our current squad is top four, if we improve our defence I'd expect top two.

Anything less would be a failure from Ray and his team, not Thompson.

Re: Thompson interview

All the managers have been well backed management to an extent: even Jackie supported SA and GMS being sold, and was given more cash to spend on wages.

It's the future backing from the stands I was concerned about.

But back on track for this thread: the OP thought an interview would take place to answer criticism in this https://thegeorgefoxspy.wordpress.com/2016/08/17/have-you-seen-this-man-in-search-of-the-missing-chairman-and-the-missing-millions/ blog, which has now been taken down.

No interview happening now according to Jim Spence.

Re: Thompson interview

The club putting a bit of legal muscle on a naive young guy and lording his apology like it's some kind of bizarre moral victory.

Everything about the non-playing side of the club leaves a bad taste in my mouth these days.

I thought 'transparency' was this months club buzzword.Or has it changed to 'defamation'?

Embarrassing.

You've lost me on this one.  What is that in reference to?  Probably obvious to the masses, but I can't think what you're on about.

Re: Thompson interview

PR consultant or legal consultant/private detective.

Transparency = threats
Openness = mind ur own business

I'll always be a DUFC supporter, but it's bloody hard to support a club which is such an absolute cunt to its support.

Re: Thompson interview

To be detached from taking sides, yes, the club is secretive when it stated it would be embracing the fans, but the blog the lad wrote made unfounded comments suggesting theft.

Hope to fuck we can string a few victories together in this league soon.

I heard he was spotted in the Heggy on saturday?

Re: Thompson interview

Agree with you TEK, everything about the club is a shambles just now, in fact it probably has been for a good five years but because of a decent team and relative success a lot of people didn't notice or bother enough to make a point about it.

The state of the pitch
The state of the stands
The state of the media department
The seating shambles tickets/kiosks/no cash gates
The shop and availability of merchandise
The catering offering
Etc etc have all been well below acceptable standards at some points over the last five years.

Maybe every other club is the same though, I've no idea.

Anyway, back on topic, another fuck-up from the current administration, two interviews with the two figure heads of our club promised now rescinded because some young punk deleted a blog and apologised.

Tidy.

He came in about 14:15 and done a round of a lot of the tables, he spent most of his time in there with some well known Fed boys.

Left about 20 minutes later, I didn't speak to him or hear what he said to anyone.

Re: Thompson interview

Was thinking, is the only possible medium term acceptable solution one that sees ST stands down and transfers his shares to his sister until a buyer is found?

Would that even be seen as an acceptable solution to those who want ST out ASAP?

Could be done instantly and would give us the opportunity to have a fresh start with the longer term intention of a new owner.

Andy, it might be a solution, but since Stephen and Justine aren't talking, it's highly unlikely to happen.

Re: Thompson interview

I wonder how long it'll be before we hear the line that they had buyers/investors waiting in the wings but they were scared off by those big bad online Dundee Utd fans.

Should be any day now.

Re: Thompson interview

Thompson has zero charisma or real association with everyday arabs, he thinks he better than us and a more arrogant cunt you'll never meet.

So much for all his promises....leopards and spots

Had heard this - tbh having read the blog it was a cease and desist letter waiting to happen.

Plenty of stuff to get irate about that goes beyond rumour and innuendo as Andy has pointed out above - blog just ended up being a distraction - ST was probably rubbing his hands with glee
