Partick predictions?

Not confident at all I'm afraid as I don't see us as any stronger than last season (other than Flood for Rankin).

Hope I'm wrong but 1-3 Partick I'm afraid.

Reckon Erskine will score at some point.

Murray for us.

Re: Partick predictions?

Without VDV, and with very little up front and our dodgy backline can only be one result. 4-2 on penalties to Utd after a 0-0 draw, obviously.

Re: Partick predictions?

have to agree about a defeat 0-2
thistle will be too physical for us
however i disagree that were not much stronger than last season all mckinnons signings are an improvement on last seasons rabble

Re: Partick predictions?

Starting with Murray Dillon Donaldson and Durnan is depressing as fuck and pretty much guarantees defeat

The GK position and midfield is stronger, defence and strikers just as poor unfortunately.

Re: Partick predictions?

They can't beat us in the Cup. 2-2 Smith x2 and Durnan OG x2 before winning on pens.

Bell - Better than Kawashima? Perhaps marginally, but not much in it imo and Bell worries me at set-pieces where he looks far from commanding.

Toshney - Better than Knoyle? Not imo. Infact I think I preferred Knoyle.

Murdoch - Better than Paton? Jury's out for me. Look a similiar standard.

Flood - Better than Rankin? Yes.

Smith - Better than Dow? Yes, probably. But it's early days on him.

VDV- Better than Billy Mckay or Ofere?Perhaps an unfair comparison but until we sign a forward we'll need to rely on him to play upfront too. Will he be able to provide us with goals?Time will tell.

The only signing I'm 100% on at the moment  is Flood (though I think VDV and Smith will probably do ok if they can stay injury free).

Bell, ur right there's not a lot in it, when was the last time we had a strong commanding keeper who dominated his box?

Toshney, jury's out

Murdoch, yes better than Paton

Flood, yes better than Rankin

Smith, better than Dow by a mile(can't believe your questioning that one at all)

VDV, quality, intelligent footballer the like of we didn't have at all last year

Problem is CHs, same as last year &

Strikers, worse than last year

Re: Partick predictions?

I think we'll win, 2-1.

What happens if it's a draw after 90?  Pens again?  ET? Replay?

Cheers, old school retro action.

Ken what, I think (hope) we'll win but 5/1 on Thistle to win btts is a very high price IMO.

Re: Partick predictions?

No going to make it tonight due to work, but I'm not too hopeful of a win especially with NDV out.  'Mon United anyway!

Re: Partick predictions?

Going tonight, as my son wants to attend, but not a great fan of the tournament right now. Hopeful of a win, 3-1, but rather concentrate on the league.

Re: Partick predictions?

Just read that we've won eight league cup ties in a row against PTFC, going back to I think is said 1975.

Clutching.

More in hope than expectation of that result, have to say I was hugely impressed with our play in the Thistle half tonight, great confidence playing the ball on the ground. Two fantastic goals from Cammy Smith from skillful assists, and the players were very keen he take the penalty too, he seems a popular bloke.

Plus my laddie, who is 26 and can rarely get to games, got a 'Child' ticket and in for five pounds. Thus diddling the club in my eyes................

Great crowd again, that's over 12,000 through the gates in four days.
