Re: Marcus Haber

I remember him. He was fucking pish.

Bit dismayed at the efforts to sign a striker tbh.

Re: Marcus Haber

Nothing wrong with taking players on trial, I wish Jackie and Mixu had done that over signing some if the diddies we put up with recently.

It's clear Ray doesn't fancy Anier.

Re: Marcus Haber

He's only 27, so could have something to offer. On the downside he's away alot with Canada which seemed to be annoying for his last Crewe.

Re: Marcus Haber

Doesn't sound to me like a McKinnon type player.  Crewe fans split on him, some wanted to keep him others glad he was released. The reason according to the Crewe manager was that he appeared lazy and sometimes didn't put himself about as much as he should have.  Looking at his Instagram he looks like a bit of a poser.
He has also missed around 12 weeks of football over the last 2 seasons because of his involvement with Canada.  Last season was his best ever season and he scored 10 goals. It's a no for me, would probably rather have Anier.

Re: Marcus Haber

I rather we just kept Anier on a reduced wage tbh.

Too much commotion

Re: Marcus Haber

Well, no-one else appears to want him on his current wage, including us. His options are therefore, take a drop in wages and potentially have a future with us or sit on his current wage doing fuck all then get freed next year. Fair enough, but who's going to pay him what he wants?

Re: Marcus Haber

If he is still here he will be used and wont be left out the squad like has happened with players before.

Correct.

A lot of fans seem to have it in for Anier a bit due to his wage.

I don't.

He was offered terms just 18 months ago. He signed them. He's been pretty decent since about March and clearly wants to stay and fight for his place.

I have no issue with that or him.

There are other people at Tannadice taking a very decent wage after all who deserve it a lot less imo.

Agree with this, yeah he's not great but why should he say yes to a pay cut?

Would rather he went and was replaced with better but if no one wants him then we have to make the most of him.

Re: Marcus Haber

I reckon Ray rates Anier, and have to say the player himself would be useful in the Championship, but to juggle the budget the club might be happy to get him off the wage bill. But doubt he'd get as good a deal anywhere else.

Having said that, Bodul and Kawashima both have top league gigs in far better football nations then Scotland, so you never know.

If he scores the goals to get us the league title, he'll be worth it.

As for Haber, he'd probably get a few goals at our present level, but be away quite a bit if selected for Canada's international squad, which is shittier than their Scottish counterparts.

David Southern and Jim Spence for starters.

Re: Marcus Haber

Dont know spences wage but hes done quite a bit to re-engage with a disillusioned fanbase and from what i understand, its on a consultancy basis -;ie  oly a few hours a week - so guessing hes not on a huge wage.

If hes helping us all pull together, then its good enough for me.

Do think we need to stop worrying about peoples wages and get on with supporting tho...

And back onto the boy haber - is he the battering ram we need?

Do you think spence is doing a good job? If not, what could be done better?

Tbh and its nothing personal - the last 18 months have been absolutely horrific for everybody at the club and im absolutely delighted the club and the fans are making small steps towards getting back on the same page. I just find thhe obsessing about 1 persons wage boring and keeps a feeling of badwill between the club and fans.

Im sure he gets paid more than you and i together - HOWEVER,i'm guessing it is the cost of getting an experienced person into the role.

I dont think anybody knows the ins and outs of his job.

Should we know the wage of everybody at tannadice? Lets start with joe, then rikki, the the woman from the club shop

Re: Marcus Haber

How many people have lost jobs at tannadice since we got relegated which the chairman said would happen?

Hes more than a few hours a week

If he was why wouldnt he do it voluntry other than take a wage?

Why do we need to pay someone to re-engage between fans and club when the club already employs several people who could do this?

Why do we need a general manager?

The club has over spent on players and staff for years which is a mojor problem especially now. We have saved on the playing budget which is a start.

How much is a steward paid these days? Have their  numbers  been reduced since relegation?

1st point here is my whole problem with the Jim Spence appointment, all that was needed was the people currently employed to stop bullshitting and start telling the truth.  Paying someone else to spin the bullshit wasn't the answer.

2nd point I'd say the question is why do we need both Thompson and Southern?

I don't care what anyone's wages are, but when the team on the park we pay to support is poor because of mismanagement or money being spent in the wrong areas of the club and we can't afford to improve the team then I'd say we've every right to raise the questions regarding these points.
