Seen he's been linked with a move away from Utd.
Quite surprised as I know he's just moved to Dundee from Edinburgh and is 100% wanting to stay.
That's 6 goals now in just 16 appearances (just 11 starts). Not the worst goal ratio tbf.
He had a terrible start to his Utd career granted, but since the 2-1 v Hearts last season (when he set-up Paton's winner) he's looked pretty handy imo.
Anyone else think this guy might just start scoring quite a few goals for us if given the chance?

Yes.

If he stays and plays he'll get some goals, yes. Could we get better for his wage, yes. It's upto him, looks like he doesn't want to go, also looks like Ray wants him to so he can get his own man in.

He's a decent striker, didn't do all that badly, as strike rate confirms, in a crap team last year. He's a different player from Simon and could do very well in Championship this year if he gets a chance to. Took goals tonight and Friday well.

It does look like due to him being one of the high earners his cards marked.
I suppose if he keeps scoring that may lead to Mckinnon re-evaluating his opinion on his worth, big wage or not.
Time will tell I suppose.
I just have a gut feeling he'll do pretty well in the Championship.

hmmmmm really really unsure about him staying to be honest and he's on a huge wedge.

Id get rid, he's on near enough 2k a week and let's be honest he's pish! Would rather get a centre back and another winger in

Agreed. A Center Back must be a priority.

Not aimed at anyone on here but it does my tits in how obsessed with money and wages Utd fans are (guilty of it myself at times).
If the guy bangs in goals this season who cares if he earns a few hundred quid more tbh.
If we're looking for a high earner to punt I'd start with Telfer. We have tons of midfielders now and most better than him.
Infact I would have had Dixon and Dillon out the door first.... but you catch my drift.

Telfer played well against Arbroath and Brechin and could probably count himself a little unlucky to be left out last night.
If Anier gets a good offer he should go. If we can get 2 players in on his wages: ch and big cf great. Then again, if he's scoring for us in the meantime its a win win.

Hard to know who's under talented or potentially good especially after the last while. We might be wrong about one or two we're lumped with.
No expecting miracles fae the new management team but for fuck sake surely ain O' them isnae as much of a dead prospect as assumed.

If he's on 2K a week and Isn't scoring every week In the low league's I'd want him out, Tek. Nothing to do with watching finances for me Its about justifying the wage for me.

Put it this way. If you are saying Anier is earning £1000 a week too much. How much is promotion valued at ?
If we keep him and pay a £52k more than we'd like to but his goals get us promotion - then that sounds a bargain to me. How much is Dixon getting paid? Donaldson? They look like they could cost us goals!! And we can also point the finger at Fat Cats like Sutherland (he is still there isn't he - who would know??)
If Anier keeps banging in the goals then we've got to re-consider his availability.
Plus he is on a contract - unlikely he's going to agree walkaway for free ?
