Team next season

The comical thing this season is that the team this year will probably be better than last years, amazing really! Genuinely can't wait for the season to start

As the days go by I'm starting to feel better about the season ahead

Re: Team next season

Assuming Ray plays a 4-4-2 I've made up a team not including future signings or trialists:

Bell
Toshney Donaldson Durnan Dixon
Spittal Murdoch Fraser Johnson
Murray Anier

Not a bad line up considering there are faces to come in. Probably Flood coming in pushing Johnson out the side and fraser on to the left. Anier will be offski and a couple strikers in his place will replace him. Overall not a bad start with several faces still to come in.

Re: Team next season

I'd say we still need 5 new players to mount a serious challenge for promotion

Re: Team next season

ATM I make it a squad of

Bell
Zwick
Szromnik

Dillon
Dixon
Durnan
Donaldson
Robson
Sukar
Ballantyne
Souttar
Toshney

Spittal
Fraser
Murdoch
Telfer
Coote
Johnson
B Smith

Murray
M Smith
Anier

Extremely short up front still, need 2 in there
Midfield ok if Flood comes in, wouldn't be against a winger also.
Defence Dominant CH needed
GK ok if Bell stays fit, problem if he doesn't.

So 5 needed.

Could still see a few leaving though.

Would think along the lines of

.                   Bell
Dillon  toshney new C/H. Dixon
Spittal  Flood  Murdoch. Fraser
            Murray. New C/F

Re: Team next season

Matty Smith and Justin Johnston showed more in 3 games than Spittal has shown in 2 years playing wide. They'll be pushing him for the wide positions.

Would agree to a point, but Spittal's never a winger (some on here would argue he's not a player full-stop,not I though). Also it's easy to dictate a game coming off the bench or starting a meaningless game (like the Killie game).

What is his (Spittal's) position?I often hear people say.

I still think he'll be a fairly decent full-back at some point.

Re: Team next season

Heard via my mole that there's a Danish defender Ray's keen on but he's under contract till October.

After that he wants him on trial (assuming he's out of contract still).

I'm liking the fact he is wanting to assess players even though he already likes them.

He's being thorough.Which is what exactly what i would expect from a DUFC Manager.

Ray mentioned this at the Q & A to me. He plays for Odense. Althought wasn't a defender, it was a striker he was after.
