Re: col donaldson

Just seen it online.

Mind his big cheesy grin at Hampden when he was high fiving Hibs players?

A Nandos generation player... or should I say 'baller'?

Has a lot (A LOT) to learn and if he's to make the grade at Utd will need to work very hard this season.

Sycophantic articles praising The Rangers players will do little to endear him to our supporters.

Re: col donaldson

He can say what he likes. The important thing is that he remembers who are paying his wages and plays accordingly....

Re: col donaldson

Agree with TEK, he needs to get his head screwed into being a Dundee United player and forgetting about looking like a pop star, giving the big up's to other teams and larking about like he is in the playground.

There is a player there but he needs to get focused on the job!

Re: col donaldson

I don't read the newspapers, so it doesn't bother me overmuch. It wouldn't matter if the lad was interviewed for two hours about United, and a question about the OF was somehow eased in: the article would be about the OF.

Re: col donaldson

I remember seeing him in warm ups on several occasions this season, once at Dingwall for example when we were staring down the barrel of a gun and here he was pissing about running after players to slap them on the arse. While the coaches looked on. It was like watching my 12 year old warm up for the school team. Why would a pro behave like that? Worse still, what do the coaches do when they see it?

Re: col donaldson

His attitude sums up a lot of that generation of player.  The generation brought up in the surroundings of pro clubs too long and coached with the winning doesn't matter coaching book.

As for the article, why would he be getting involved in that?
The amount of pish some of our players have spouted in the press the last few years is just bizarre.

He was at hampden meant to be promoting the championship.  Obviously because he was at qpr he was asked about Barton and hill and he's answered.
We don't sell papers unfortunately.  Stories about rangers players do.

B&T is bang on the money with this - let's just all try and draw a line in the sand; and let The Manager start afresh - I'm sure The Manager will not tolerate half of what seems to have gone on in the last 2 regimes without consequence.  I'm expecting good things from the likes of Donaldson this season under decent coaching etc.

Re: col donaldson

This is something that's always been an irritation for me. Mark Wilson was a serial offender at generating Celtic stories whilst at United.
If a United player is asked a question relating to The Rangers or Celtic, the automatic response should be: "I'm here to talk about United." Why are we allowing players to speak to the papers? To generate a United story, right? If a player answers a single question about The Rangers or Celtic, it's then a pointless exercise.

If this stance isnt taken soon some of us will loose the plot and/or vote with our feet. Im of the opinion that you turn up when you can and shout loud for yer team but the understanding that we are running a business is being overindulged by players pimping their careers without thought for the fans who pay their wages. Get this nipped in the bud now! Hating players who went to rivals has been replaced by a general understanding that folk have a living to make BUT it's taking things too far from the heart of the SUPPORTER when players can comment freely in ways that piss the fans off. No respect for the badge or fans can't be allowed to hit the media in any form especially with the split that we are trying to mend.

Sort it out for FUCK SAKE NOW!
