That matters not in the world of Sevco, SFA and the Scottish media. He's under contract at Burnley until 1st July.
But Sevco have to sell season tickets, so special dispensation to them so they can boast about signing a star thug, especially when Warburton's gone off message and disappeared from the Ibrox radar.
Barton will be receiving money from a PR company to make quotes about the new Celtic manager, Celtic's captain, Russian hooligans, In or Out of the EU, in fact anything which gives the media the chance to write 'Rangers star Joey Barton'.
Yet he's never 'starred' at Ibrox, and I've a feeling he maybe never will.

Much as I hate rangers I think joey will be a good signing for them and btw yeah he's made a few mistakes in the past years ago but he's nothing at all like the bad boy the media portray him to be he's a very friendly n approachable guy

Interesting from today's BBC Gossip Column
Barton is set to miss Rangers pre-season trip to the USA. The club have given the 33-year-old midfielder extra time off to recover after helping Burnley to the English Championship title last season. Barton was not certain to be granted entry to the States due to his 2008 conviction for assault. (Scottish Sun)
