League Cup Pricing

Don't think the pricing structure will encourage decent crowds at the group matches. But am I just too cynical of Scottish Football these days?

Re: League Cup Pricing

Should be no more than a tenner for these group games.

Re: League Cup Pricing

For all the new board members, spencey and whatever other changes the fact the club is not making these matches 10 pound and 5 pound is embarrassing. Unless this is an agreed amount by all teams to charge (it's not) then there's no excuse.

Re: League Cup Pricing

get a fucking grip. £12/15 is ok for these games. All clubs have to agree and they have to cover their overheads

Re: League Cup Pricing

Is there any reason that Utd should charge less for the league cup than everybody else in the tournament? Or is this just another chance to have a moan. I was recently charged £5 to watch a schoolboy game £12/15 is a reasonable price to charge.

Re: League Cup Pricing

The original point I was making is that the pricing structure won't encourage decent crowds at the group matches. I'm assuming the folk who think these prices are okay are either going themselves to the games (IE, without family responsibilities) or have more disposable income than others.

As an example, a family of two parents and two children would have to pay £40 - £50 to watch United face Arbroath, and £34 to see Cowdenbeath at Tannadice, potentially £84 prior to transport and refreshments. This for two glorified warm up matches in a previously failed LC set up.

In my opinion, the crowds will be poor, just as they have diminished in the early rounds of the Scottish Cup over the past two decades.

My criticism isn't directly of United, it's of the authorities who treat fans with utter disdain. Of course, I maintain the authorities are acting on behalf of the clubs, so ultimately, the clubs are killing themselves (see the Challenge Cup proposals, the scheme to have a league game played in the USA, the list goes on).

Re: League Cup Pricing

I was kind of hoping that because the season tickets were virtually the same price as last year we might get this on our season tickets! Call me naïve. On the same note is that Southern geezer still in charge of all things commercial? He should have been treated in the same manner as the under-achieving players! Punted!

Re: League Cup Pricing

The club should have used a bit of initiative here and offered a package deal for the group games. £20 for the two games would have been perfect.  Or pay the full price they are asking and get into the friendly free.
The walk up prices plus the price of the proposed home friendly will make it quite steep for a family wanting to attend all the games.
