aim for season ahead

simply has to be the title for me, having an attitude of oh promotion will do means we accept the chance of promotion by play offs lets have a mindset of winners, of course it wont be easy far from it but we simply have to aim for the title

Re: aim for season ahead

100% Bang-on.

Our prime object simply has to be to finish 1st.

I'm actually happy that we aren't favourites for the title and aren't the biggest team in the league this time.

All the pressure is on Hibs and if they aren't cruising the league this season their fans will start getting very twitchy about staying down for a 4th season.

Re: aim for season ahead

Players attitude has to be the polar opposite of the last season.
That's why we fans crave the biggest clearout possible.
As said the aim has to be to win the league but how public that needs to be is debatable.

Have more hope in RM motivating and managing but the squad is still to be built.

Only sure thing is the away squad will be good in numbers, voice and visuals.

Re: aim for season ahead

Tonight's Hibs appointment imo gives us a boost, he couldn't coach a shite oot his own arse! Got found out at Bolton as even a monkey could win the league with Celtic

Agreed, his mouthy attitude and general being an unlikeable rodent should keep all the focus on Hibs from the media and give us the opportunity to quietly go about our business.

It's not where you're from it's where you're at.

Totally agree.

Highest paid manager in hib's history too so happy to hear they've spunked a wedge of their budget on the creature.

Re: aim for season ahead

First off us.......if we aim for anything other than first its a disgrace

Hibs....Lennon could prove to be a terrible appointment for them as he's really not proved himself as a manager other than at Celtic where any  manager could win the league .

Really hoping to see us making good signings ASAP

Re: aim for season ahead

Am sure Ray will be aiming to win the league.

As will Peter Houson, as will Neil Lennon.

They can't all do it.

Bear in mind who'll have the biggest budget. I think some of the glee at Lennon's appointment is badly misplaced.

Disagree tbh. Name an Old Firm manager who has gone on to have any relative success in other leagues, youll really struggle.

The baggage that Lennon brings far outweighs any positives he'll bring as Hibs manager, and now he can no longer bring the weight of Celtic behind his constant greetin about referee's he'll get found out even more.

Re: aim for season ahead

The aim should be to win as many games as possible. Final league position will take care of itself.

RM is making the right noises about playing the appropriate team/system on a game to game basis. I'm quietly confident we'll do well

Re: aim for season ahead

I hope most of the comments about Lennon being a disaster for hibs end up true and hibs struggle but I actually think he could do well with them he's certainly a very passionate guy who hates losing and shows a bit of anger which I actually like to see in a manager I know he didn't do well at Bolton but the club was in a complete mess from top to bottom

Re: aim for season ahead

I don't think Lennon's as bad a Manager as some folk in our support seem to think he is.

But.

I think his appointment brings even more spotlight and media pressure on Hibs now to win this league.

Can they handle that pressure?

Particularly if it's a three or four team fight for the title?

Re: aim for season ahead

I think Lennon is probably a good motivator and that his assistant does most of the tactics etc.  Interesting that Hibs appear to have shelled out a shed load of cash to get him though and how that might affect their signings.  He obviously had a massive budget at Celtic compared to every other team and he struggled big time at Bolton when the shoe was on the other foot.
