Gonna be pretty damn depressing when Celtic's U20's win this.

I imagine we'd get a pretty 'warm' welcome btw if we were to travel to play Linfield.

Thin end of the wedge. This is a worrying development, possibly a precursor to steps facilitating entry for 'colts sides' from the Glasgow twins into the lower leagues.
Football is getting rapidly fucked.

My thoughts too Pat.
I reckon they're also testing the water for possibly inviting Welsh and Northern Irish teams into our Cup competitions (which I'm dead against personally).
It also pisses me off that the Welsh and Irish sides are entering the tournament last.
Why are they being given every advantage in what is a Scottish domestic cup competition? It's fucking ludicrous.
The likes of Peterhead getting their day out at Hampden is looking increasingly unlikely now.
Which is a shame because this tournament was for teams such as that to try and win a cup.

I hope it's a precursor for cross UK competition that will eventually allow both Celtic and The Rangers to join the English league.

Only snag with that Andy is I think they would try and implement The Rangers and Celtic Development sides into the Scottish Leagues somehow.
Though they'd maybe need to start in the Lowland leagues, they'd pretty quickly rise through the divisions.

What a crock of shite - I'm all for trying inovative stuff but this is a bit of a joke.

I don't want that to happen TEK but if it meant that the full teams are out of Scottish football for good and the B teams can't gain promotion to the top flight (as it works in all other leagues that employ this system) then I would sign up for it tomorrow.
The lower league teams with very little ambition in Scotland would love having the bigots in town and those 16-18 teams who are serious about trying to win something will have nothing to fear in terms of promotion to the top flight.
The only issue for me would be the cups, do they get to field teams in it? I guess they would have to and again, I'd be okay with that as long as there were squads decided at the start of the season with no full team players transferred into the B team once the season kicked off.

I'm noting the consultation to this point on the colt sides coming into League Two has taken place between the top league sides, ignoring the clubs which will have to play against the colts.
And see how Doncaster and his acolytes hold up Germany and Spain as examples of second string teams playing in their league systems 'successfully,
a) we are not comparable to Germany and Spain in any football terms,
b) the top league sides in these countries who have colt teams in leagues below are not doing this as a precursor to running away to another league system. Put simply, nuRangers and Celtic want a safety net in Scotland,
c) as far as I'm aware, Bayern Munich or Real Madrid, as examples, don't rely on a huge percentage of bigots to financially support their organisations.
