Moving the away support into The Shed

As much as i would like our OWN supporters to be in The Shed let's be honest it only ever happens once or twice a season these days.

Why not move the away support into The Shed for 2 key reasons...?

1)For aesthetic purposes. It would look a lot better on telly (and during the match itself imo) if this stand had supporters in it rather than an empty stand with flags in it.

2)It would move the away support away from the media/radio/tv gantry. It so often sounds terrible (and more than a bit embarrassing) when they go to Tannadice on the radio and all you can hear is the away support giving it laldy, even if it's just a modest support the away team has taken.

There's also the issue of the away support being behind the home dug outs.Is there any other team in the UK where this is the case?

Oh and one other small idea...

3)Why not offer the 'Singing Section' Lads to swap their seats and sit up there under the tv/radio gantry and above the Dug-outs?Yes there may not be a lot of them just now but even if there was only 25 of them or whatever it would sound a lot better when we are on the telly/radio that you can actually hear Utd supporters??

Thoughts?

I would move anywhere from where we currently are.

I cannae understand why you guys can't be accommodated in the East Stand. I t's like the club want to put you away out the road. Try to get a word with Jim Spence about relocation.

Regarding the away support, aye, put them in the Shed, but some crowds are likely to be pitiful next season.

(1) Great idea!

(2) Greater idea! I have long deplored listening to the opposition!

(3) Greater still!! It might encourage some songs other than "Yoonited we love yooo!"

If eh had my way we would shut the ET and move the home support back in to the shed. It'll never happen mind but would much prefer our own support in the shed which makes for a much better atmosphere than the ET, with the roof being so much lower in the shed.

Would support a move to put away support in there however, as much as I like the '12th man' flag,it's brutal that it sits in an empty stand in full view of the TV cameras, makes a proper chunt of us.

Re: Moving the away support into The Shed

Some of the away supports next season could go in a garden shed.

What ur suggesting makes sense, although have to say it really doesn't bother me what it sounds like on tv or radio, it's what it sounds like at the game that counts.

It does piss me off tho when the teams come out before the game and line up to do the handshakes (a lot of nonsense itself) in front of the away support.  It should be done in front of the GF.

Re: Moving the away support into The Shed

First and foremost let's hope utd get rid of the current ridiculous ticketing policy and also shut the Jerry kerr stand down for next season.

Re: Moving the away support into The Shed

Dunfermline, Falkirk and Hibs will all bring at least 1000.

That would look good In the shed.

The clubs answer to your point would probably be that they want them facing the TV/media gantry for best look/effect so why not take best effect further as suggested and chuck away fans in the Shed, close the JK and for fuck sake get the singing section lads in amongst the support instead of quarantined oot the way.

Get the bottom tier converted to safe standing ASAP. That is the future so get on with it.
Sure now that ST has his money back he could afford the £200 000 to get this done and appease the support a bit for the shit decisions made and consequences of them.
Get him telt Spencey FFS.

Your prob right, but I don't really give a fuck about looking good on tv,  would rather the fans at games were catered for better and the players came out to the home support, not lined up like its an away game.

It might be petty but when ur at home u should take every little advantage u can.

Re: Moving the away support into The Shed

After the ludicrous pricing structure the club have implemented they simply must open The Shed for away fans.

Our stadium will look totally empty next season otherwise.

Re: Moving the away support into The Shed

Agreed. Away fans in Shed. Home fans in Eddie Thompson and George Fox. Shut Jerry Kerr and Jim McLean stand for everything apart from Hibs game and maybe Falkirk and Dunfermline.

Too much commotion

That won't happen though.  They'll probably only open the jim McLean and house abody in the top tier charging 24 quid.

Re: Moving the away support into The Shed

Get the majority of away supports as far fae the duguots and TV mics as possible. If in view of the cameras then better for image.
For fuck sake don't split the vocal support.

Absolutely detrimental to the atmosphere to place the guys who request to improve it as far away, in fact quarantined in an area least likely to be effective.
Bawbag of a decision in the first place that was likely to cause the least complaints as a priority over getting the team a maximised backing.

As i said above.

Get those Lads (the one's who actually want to sing for 90 mins) up under the tv/radio gantry and above the dug-outs.

Let's play to our strengths as a club from now on in every aspect possible.

I can't fathom what the club is thinking about right now. Certainly the board appears to be avoiding encouraging supporters to come to Tannadice.

Is Gerald Ratner providing advice to the board?

Re: Moving the away support into The Shed

Looks like the Tannadice mole who reads this Forum is acting on my ideas again.

The atmosphere seemed decent today for a Sunday game live on the telly.

Having both ends of the ground housing supporters behind the goal just looks aesthetically so much better.
