Out of contract/free to leave players staying after all?

=17.2px"The players that were let go by the chairman were told there was no room for them to be re-signed because there was no budget at that moment. So if I want to go and speak to any of those players I can, and I might. I think that was blown out of proportion how that was dealt with, it will be my decision ultimately who is at this club and who’s not at this club.”

So, Who's he thinking about keeping?

Hope not. Fresh start needed.

There's only a couple I would even consider keeping. Paton (if likely to keep fit and take a wage cut) and Donaldson who has decent potential. Oh, and if Knoyle fancies another year on loan with us I'd gladly take him.

Of the out of contract players I'd keep Ofere.

Wouldn't be arsed if any of the rest left.

Edit to add - Would take Knoyle back on loan. Good player.

I'd keep Donaldson, Paton and Ofere. If Knoyle came back on loan that would be good as well.

Too much commotion

I personally think Ofere is absolutely rank rotten.

Given the choice, I wouldn't keep any of them. Nae room for sentiment either. It's time to be brutal. Sweeping changes required.

I'd only keep ofere, the rest are shite! Ofere is a goalscorer sometimes not pretty but that's was the same with Daly and he was excellent for us

Re: Out of contract/free to leave players staying after all?

While it would be great to totally clear the decks, reality of trying to build a squad that can win the league with only 5 players to start with over a couple of months is very difficult.  Maybe he's looking for 3/4 more to stay to give him a healthier starting point. Would be a real challenge to blend a team together of so many new faces and get off to the good start we need.  As the season goes on maybe the players he's talking about wouldn't feature as heavily?

Thing is tho, I don't really see (m)any of the under contract free to leave players going anywhere, so he's prob got 2/3 he wants and 3/4 he doesn't anyway.

Re: Out of contract/free to leave players staying after all?

It would be great to get rid of most of last seasons failures. The issue for RM is can he replace them with better within the tight budget?  If not Dopey Durnan Pish Paton cant think of an illiteration for Zwick might be the best we can get.
